LMAO~ What a word to use- Solicit~ This word is being stigmatize way too much.. Im just laughing at the choice of word. Sorry mate. Anyway, she's not into those stuff, wasting time, faffing and chatting with random strangers. If you got any business enquiries, you should probably email her. Yes, Americans DO use the term "not my cup of tea" in exactly the same way the British use it. Also, "hole in the wall" in America means something very different - it's a small, obscure, or unimportant place, as in "We found a great new restaurant. It's just a hole in the wall, but the food is fantastic."

Hey Anna, I've got a suggestion for your next content video. Do a list of expression with names probably top 20 most commonly used expressions and just nice, since you are expecting and I'm pretty sure you will be considering a name for your baby. People can get relatively superstitious when giving their child a name. A few good examples: - No Shit Sherlocks -Average Joe -Chatty Katy -Clever Dick -Cup of Joe -Doubting Thomas -For Pete's Sake - For Christ's Sake - Judas Kiss -Peeping Tom - Pessimistic Patricia - Roger That -Scott Free -Tom boy -Uncle Sam ,... etc. These are the few I managed to think of for now. When I read the sentence, "I hope this is a good restaurant, the food costs a bomb" I thought of the slang here in America. Where we would say, the food here is the bomb. Bomb meaning very 'delicious'. Think of it as high quality, which might as well be expensive.

I’ve lived here in the UK almost for over nine years and have never heard or might have misunderstood the Slang term: Bagsy or Shotgun ... I’m originally from Ethiopia 🇪🇹 and we do have similar phrases in Amharic, which is our official language and it’s quite commonly used by children I used this slang phrase a lot when I was a little boy. Tea is not my cup of tea, I'll settle for a cup of coffee over a cup of tea anytime. Lol. Just something I noticed, a slang term that came to mind when you mentions the flogging of cheap stuff. "knockoff" a cheap, most likely illegal imitation of a expensive product. I like the example used by Urban dictionary "That piece of shit isn’t a Rolex, it’s a knock off."

In France, the kids play to say "Prims!" (the final s is pronounced), when they claim for such a privilege, as you do with "shotgun" or "clamsy". But the adults don't say it. They just run to go first... Finally, kids are more polite.

It's funny because saying "Shotgun" implies riding shotgun meaning if you were doing a drive-by or the like the passenger seat would be the only seat you'd use the term "Shotgun" as that's the seat you'd use for said act!

Riding shotgun may have come from a custom of having an extra person sitting next to the driver for security reasons when travelling in a horse-drawn coach, carrying quite literally a shotgun.

Here in Brazil, we don't have anything like shotgun. If the person wants to sit in front of the car, they have to arrive first and that's it!

I posted this same comment in another video. Pardon my stupidity and unlearned american ear but there are some things that sound really strange to me when I have spoken with people from the north of England, say from Bolton or Manchester. The way I figure it, you guys invented the language so the examples I lay out can't possibly be wrong. So as usual we yanks have it mucked up in my opinion. But they haven't been carried over to the US side of the world. I'm just trying to understand them better from the English perspective. I would love to see a video on some of the turns of phrase that people in the north of England use. For instance in this video the word "were" as opposed to the word "was". As in "I were thinkin" or " I were walkin the street the other day". Another one would be the use of the word "you" after the person has already been referred to as you earlier in the sentence. As in " I don't think you know where you're goin, "you". Another one would yet be a reference of time as "at" instead of the phrase "in the" . For instance "I were sittin in me chair and it were @ at mornin. It doesn't sound strange to me to say @ o' clock at night, but @ at mornin? I understand in PR English those are sort of straightened out and discarded. But I'm not interested in PR enunciation. I'm interested in the real language spoken by the real people. Would you be able to do a video on this please? Another would be the omission of the word "the" in some cases, as in "if you don't stop that, I'm going to put you "in hospital" as opposed to "in the hospital". I know that there are literally hundreds of examples, but I'm sure you get the nature of what I'm on about. Please and thank you!!!
