How to write a PERSONAL STATEMENT for university or college

Everything you need to know to write a personal statement. Are you applying to university or college? You will need to submit documents to tell the admissions committee more about yourself. One such document is the “Personal Statement”. Students spend weeks or months working on their statement, but many make a fundamental mistake: they don’t make it personal. In this video, we will go over the six essential steps of constructing a winning personal statement that will help you get into the school of your choice. I will teach you how to plan and structure your personal statement, how to research for it, and how to edit it. Writing your statement will take you at least a week, so don’t start at the last minute!

I appreciate the effort put into this video. It does help out so many people like you said, even if it is not directly related to applying to a university. I for one am writing a personal statement for a scholarship. You make a lot of good points and made sure to note the common mistakes people make that can make or break a personal statement. This is the jump start I need to write my truly "personal" statement, so thank you again for helping me and so many other people out.

I personally never leave comments on videos but... this video is gold, seriously. I'm applying for a scholarship abroad and I've been going back and forth with my personal statement because I feel it's not good enough, and scholarships are obviously very competitive. Watching this video I got so many ideas of things I could change or add to improve my personal statement that I think I might rewrite it again. THANK YOU SO MUCH, by far the most helpful video, it didn't even feel it was half an hour long!
