lyrik auf hochdeutsch:
MAIENZEIT:
Maienzeit,
Freudenzeit,
Fröhlichkeit
weit und breit,
Ihre Rückkehr kann uns Hoffnung geben.
Auf dem Feld,
wohlbestellt,
wächst die Welt,
wie's gefällt,
Bunte Blumen, die zur Sonne streben.
Manche Knospe ist schon aufgesprungen,
Selbst im Wald
ist's nicht kalt,
wenn's schon bald
laut erschallt,
Wilder wird doch selten nur gesungen.
Aber ich
schreibe nicht
mein Gedicht
übers Licht,
Dieser Mai kann mir nicht Frieden bringen.
Diese Zeit
ist voll Leid,
fühle Neid,
suche Streit,
Will jetzt keine Frühlingslieder singen.
Werden wir die Liebe wieder sehen?
Ich verzage
alle Tage,
wenn ich klage
und euch sage,
Selbst die schönste Blüte muss vergehen.
Große Not,
denn mir droht
ein Idiot
mit dem Tod,
Das ist Hildebold von Berenreute.
Irenfried
und der Schmied,
jeder flieht,
Amelolt,
Berenbolt,
hab'n gewollt,
dass man Gold
Für meinen Kopf bezahlt im Preußenlande.
Als ich sah:
Sie sind da,
ging ich Narr
zu der Schar.
Ich wollte wissen, was die Schnösel machen.
Irenbeer
protzte schwer,
schwang den Speer
hin und her.
ENGLISH:
The time of May,
without jealousy,
happiness goes around(?),
against the fight.
It (the time of May) returning, can help us all.
With the plan.
Without illusion,
one can see
brown little flowers stand next to yellow ones.
They have already spread among the grass.
And the sound (of the birds?) sounds
through the forest,
often,
uncountable.
Nobody ever sung better in there.
I wouldn't sing
like they do,
if I had peace.
I hope for it.
I hope someone help me with this.
I gave up hope,
my pain.
It's still huge.
I'd take it, if someone could release me from this (pain).
Looking at my love - it can make me mad.
This is my complaint.
Every day -
and I remain silent,
without courage.
Looking at my love, please remain - the sight at my love.
The one
who threatens me with death,
causes great distress.
That's Hildebolt von Bernreut.
Crazy person
and the blacksmith
should be hanged.
So they would not annoy the people.
Ameioth,
Berinbolt,
They allowed me to get sold
to go to Prussia.

It hits differently when you are in actual bavarian Alps in May, trust me) I’ve been listening to it every year in the beginning of May since 2018, cursing that rat Hildebolt von Berenreute, whoever he was, and was positively surprised that he’s your enemy in rhe game :-)

I'm just paying a quick visit back from the 2530s and I remember this as I grew up. My mum was a witch and my dad was a warlock and they used to tell me fantastic tales of a race, 500 years ago, that flew high in magic tubes of iron and raced across heath and moor in chariots that ran faster than a frightened mare, yet had no horse to pull them, and could see to the ends of the earth on eldritch glowing boxes like a scrying glass that was about the size of a goose. This was of course all before the War of the Magic Suns soon after when men fired terrorous catapults of war trhat burneth hotter than a thousand thousand fires, that rose like an evil Sun in the west and north, and south and east yet too, and these fires of Hell could destroy an entire city faster than a hundred armies. So I just had to come back and take a look. Your Eldritch boxes are quite cool, writing on one now, but I prefer our own scrying glasses. Your magic chariots are rather rubbish though.

These were the good old days. I remember me, Hans and Helga sitting in the roof of the Mitteldeutsches Haus we were renting a room in. We listened to Frau Ada, the daughter of Ritter Bartholomäus. She sat up there with us too, and this was one of the songs she knew by heart. I haven’t seen them in a few years, unfortunately. I saw Ada a few days ago at the Obstgarten picking fruit. From talking to her I know that she and Helga are still close friends, and live in the same Hüttenhaus. It’s very small, and they have to sleep in the same bed. Neither me nor they have heard from Hans, especially after we distanced ourselves in 58’. I’ve heard he’s married with children. Despite our differences, I hope he is doing well.

You're welcome! I'm glad to hear you liked my previous comment. Jk Tbh. When I recently rediscovered our conversation, I felt more balanced and thought to myself, "Actually, you're right, and it would be beneficial to introduce people to this valuable cultural heritage of german history and maybe even someone discovers a new interest for the medieval time period." That's why I tried to translate the text into English as accurately as i can. The translation is based on the original text I found online. You can find it in the comment section from now on. Enjoy. :)

May-time offers joy competing amicably with jealousy, Its return can help us all. In the meadow anyone can see Bright purple little flowers next to the yellow ones. They are already scattered among the grasses, And in the forest unceasing and manifold sounds From myriad voices as were never heard before. I wouldn't sing like they do if I had the peace I long for, If only someone would comfort me. I am disconsolate, my grief is so large, I wish someone could release me from this pain. The gaze of my love drives me wild! This is my complaint, every day, but I remain silent like a coward, The gaze of my love, just let me dwell in this gaze. My great distress, that threatens me with death: It's Hildebolt von Bernreut! That person and the blacksmith should be hanged, So they would not annoy people! Barwin hasn’t harmed anyone, But Amelolt, Berinbolt, those two are to blame For there being a bounty on me in Prussia!

Who is "Hildebold von Berenreute" in this lyrik?

Hildebold von Berenreute threatens Neidhart with death. Others also cause stress because a bounty on Neidhart would be paid.

(was a translation error), correct : For the death of Neidhart is offered a premium (Gold).
