We're at the archaeological site of Carthage in Tunis, Tunisia. The entry fee is 12DT (Tunisian Dinar), approximately USD 4.20 per person. Founded by the Phoenicians in the 9th century B.C. on the Gulf of Tunis, Carthage grew into a vast trading empire across the Mediterranean, boasting a remarkable civilization. Throughout the prolonged Punic Wars, Carthage seized territories owned by Rome, which ultimately vanquished its adversary in 146 B.C. Subsequently, a second Roman Carthage was erected atop the original's remnants. Upon entering the site, Gerak Darma's team encountered numerous pillars gathered from the ruins for display. The pillars are from many different kinds of rocks like marble and granite. The beautiful blue water of The Gulf of Tunis can be seen from the top of the ruins. The site of the ruins is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We are here to explore this ancient site. Exciting.
