Here's the opening moments of an edition of Entertainment Tonight which spotlighted The Three Stooges receiving their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame the previous day (August 30th). The anchors are Ron Hendren and Mary Hart.

- A look at Eddy Grant of "Electric Avenue" fame
- Release of Sinatra master recordings, background music, Leonard Maltin's review of "Daniel," and the mystery of "Cuchi-Cuchi"
...followed by title sequence (far more involved and detailed than would follow in later years)
Ron introduces the top story, reported by Catherine Mann - the Stooges' Walk of Fame ceremony, attended by surviving Stooge Joe Besser and descendants of the original members, plus a crowd of 2,000 and Stooge lookalikes; at another gathering, the likes of Jamie Farr and Milton Berle paid tribute to the trio. L.A. disc jockey (and former Laugh-In announcer) Gary Owens had initiated a letter-writing campaign (a total of 15,000 had written) that led to this day. At the end of the day, a documentary - "The Funniest Guys in the World: Fifty Years with the Stooges," narrated by Steve Allen, is shown; Paul Winchell speaks about their legacy towards the end of this report.
