The ikea stal shoe cupboard is only 15 cms deep so neat and they come in different heights and widths. You should absolutely remove the lining paper, it looks as though the plaster has blown and it needs repairing. We’ve renovated Victorian and Edwardian homes. You absolutely need to change the vestibule tiles.

We have changed our radiator in our narrow,victorian hallway for the vertical one and we've gained so much room for shoe cabinet, mirror, bench and some accessories

That's a good idea - I didn't think about changing the radiator! Thanks for sharing and watching! x

Paint white walls. Don’t have conflicting patterns..

You will have to measure again with a radiator cover.

I think you have to bite the bullet and have the entrance tiles done too. I would also paint both the front and inner door and apply a pretty glass transfer on the glass of inner door.

I agree. It should all match in rather than be a mismatch. Put a nice mat inside and outside of the front door to wipe muddy feet before anyone steps on the tiles.

@@katbar6066 if there is a rug in that in between door area it would be fine. If the color were not gray but the same blue or similar blue? When the door closes won’t even notice the tiles are different.

@@kristinesharp6286 I'm not so sure- but we all have our idiosyncrasies and matching floor tiles (sadly) is mine 😀😀

@@katbar6066 it’s technically in a different room behind a different door. Chances are the door will be closed. If you think back in the day the vestibule would have been tile and the hallway something else or a different but more matching pattern. But it’s hard to tell color from the video. There is also the fact the floor is slightly raised or lowered there. It would be weird to have a threshold if the tiles were identical. Not that weird.

@@kristinesharp6286 Oh I understand what you are saying and to a degree I agree. But I did say that was just me and one of my foibles! 😥😥

Great video. Does a fitted mat on top of the first tiles work? A place to stand and remove shoes, ready to place on the rack... remove/ replace lining paper and paint/ wallpaper neutral colour that doesn't clash with tiles.

AGREE! A mat right in the entry way will cover almost all of the section and be a good prompt for people to take off their shoes. Can't wait to finish it all off to have a nice welcoming space!

Had you thought of Coir matting made to measure Would be both practical & attractive for the entrance porch

That’s a good idea! Will stop people putting their dirty shoes on the new tiles wouldnt it!

Hi, where are the tiles from?
@Pursuitofhealthwealthhappiness Жыл бұрын
Hi Chris, they’re from Crown Tiles! Do you have a Victorian house too? Thanks for watching 😊
