Eons, you really are turning into the Bob Ross of miniatures. I can watch your videos and I know they won't be loaded with negativity, swearing, complaints, etc. Even things that are frustrating, you sort of turn into a learning experience a la happy accidents. Just wanted to let you know. I like that I can watch one of your videos and it instantly brings positivity and encouragement for painting. Not enough are positive about things in general; it's nice to see someone who clearly enjoys what they are doing.

To be fair for the Cities I think they're that way so that they can be highly customizable to whatever kind of force you want to make. Either highly ornamental I saw a video where they were painted white and purple and they seemed very ornate but I saw another that used drab brown and black and they looked a lot more wore down thanks to it

as a girl who plays warhammer, the new 'lady on a horse' model excites me a lot!! i'm happy to have a more feminine or just "pretty" model that isnt all crazy dark and griddy (even though i love those too) i think it'll be such a refreshing change of pace from what we usually paint :)

for bloodbowl, all of the models are usable from the 2016 starter box, the only thing you need to play is the new book then you're good to go!

absolutely adore your videos. i play them in that background while i paint my 92nd cadian (with a twist). your videos inspired me to step out of bounds of the norm to try new things regarding models, keep up the great work!

I just went and bought my first starter kit on my birthday which was on Monday, and I just finished painting my first miniature and I absolutely love how it turned out and how much fun it is! I'm sorry to do this Jay, but it's necessary. The Cities of Sigmar aren't analogous to Bretonnia; they're the analogue of the Empire of Man from Warhammer Fantasy - two different factions. When you say 'they feel like an organised militia', you're absolutely right: the Old World Empire had Militia units, whereas Bretonnia had peasant archers and men-at-arms as their core infantry. If you want to dig deeper, Bretonnia is based on medieval Europe, whereas the Empire is based on the Renaissance period Holy Roman Empire. Hope that helps!

Hi Jay! Yea, I like AoS and WHFB. I have the WHFB sets for 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th. I have a large skaven army which was a hoot to play back in the day. At one time, I thought about converting them over to round bases for AoS but never got around to it. I like the lady on a horse model but unfortunately I hate GW/forgeworld resin. I think cleaning up Sly Marbo was my last straw, he had sprue extensions everywhere including in detail spots that had to be removed. I've bought resin minis from Victoria Minatures that did not have this problem. I think it may come from GW/FW using their old metal minis to make the silicone molds and needed to add more sprues for the resin to fill properly as the figures were not designed for that casting process. For the grenade space marine, we used to have this thing, I think it was called a cook off where you'd count to two before throwing it so the enemy couldn't pick it up and throw it back at you. Dangerous, yes. I thought I heard that the Kill Team rules will be available for download, has anyone else heard this? I really don't need anymore space marine figures.

Fulgrim it's a pretty good looking model... In theory, in theory because it's a FW resin model, and that means, tons of bubbles, warped parts, and pieces that doesn't fit to each other, and cost 3X that other companies models cost

Jay, you need to play Old World before you dismiss it. This is my first love with GW and I played Space Hulk the year it came out and fell in love with it. But once I played Fantasy Battles I was HOOKED! You will love rank and file. Very different.

I am painting some Flesh Tearers, just for fun, and there is ONE THING that drives me absolutely nuts: the FT come from the planet Cretacia... you know... like CRETACEOUS! WHERE ARE MY SPACE MARINES ON DINOSAURS, GW? "But that sounds so absurd!" If a Space Wolf can ride on the back of a giant cyborg wolf, then a FT can ride on the back of a dinosaur!

If Slaanesh ever comes back to 40k, it needs the good ol' Glam Rock aesthetic.

Slaanesh is probably getting fleshed out next year or for 11E based on how things have gone so far. Alternatively, we will not get any of that stuff and they will just release 40 K rules for the new Fulgrim model.

It's a problem with Slaanesh that folks don't note on much, that literally everything that feeds other gods feeds Slaanesh, too. Not even tangentially, just straight-up, direct, full-on, anything that feeds them feeds Slaanesh.

Please try Blood Bowl! It is an incredibly fun game.

IMO, the Blood Bowl Vampire team owes a lot of their aesthetic to the old Hammer Dracula films that starred Peter Cushing & Christopher Lee.

I don’t think bretonnians look anywhere as overly perfect as stormcast eternals. They are medieval soldiers, they are perfect for that. I always wanted to do brettonians as a kid but ended up doing chaos, I was wounded when I found out they got rid of them for sigmar space marines.

As someone who actually has the Cities of Sigmar models I really disagree with Jay's take- they don't feel like "the stormtroopers of AoS, that's what the Stormcast feel like. When you look at all the models and how each of them has a unique weapon with some having axes, some having swords, one guy even having a club etc etc it looks they're a ragtag group of people that all got handed uniforms and some equipment are now having to defend their cities, exactly what they were aiming for imo.

The new Slaanesh models may not be for 40k but that doesn’t mean I’m not gonna put them in my 40k Slaaneshi army

There is a large core of old Warhammer Fantasy Battle players that do not like Age of Sigmar. I am one for example. Age of Sigmar feels like Fantasy 40K to me, and not Warhammer Fantasy's successor. When WFB was dropped, it spawn multiple successors immediately including 9th Age and several Fantasy/Historical off shoots that proved immensely popular. Why wouldn't GW seeing that want to tap into that audience? Old World is that project that PP has been working on for several years now. I suspect once released, depending on how much new stuff comes out and how quickly it gets released, Old World will over take Age of Sigmar as the popular Fantasy full army combat game by GW.
