280,000 miles on my 98 civic with the D16Y8. Still runs great burns no oil and gets 42mpg on the highway. Hard to beat a D series for reliability and fuel efficiency

I had a 98 ek with the d17y8, I let my niece borrow right before gas prices went up and she totaled it. Iv owned many cars and motorcycles and I will miss my ek the most 😢

The bondo on that drivers side rear quarter is terrifying. Given the rust on the roof I wouldn't be surprised if that whole quarter is bondo instead of metal.

Y7 makes more like 100 however if you do the y8 head swap making it vtec then You would be looking at 130 it’s called thr “mini mi swap”

A built d series with a turbo would be enough to make around 500hp. But building an engine is a hard task, so either you'd need a propper workshop and knowledge or a lot of money. But compared to an M4 or scatpack it would still be cheap.

I bought my 95’ Si for $15,600 I got scammed but was desperate and been looking for a clean one for 17 years straight so when I found one I bit the bullet it was originally up for $20k but I talked him down to $15.6 it’s all original with 18k miles 1 owner and it’s spotless but now I’m thinking about selling it because I want another one that’s not as clean that I can build because I’d feel bad to tear into this one with this one all I’ve down was tint the windows and get it ceramic coated

The d16y7 makes 106hp. Only the EX trim came with the d16y8 which makes 127hp

Pls no before you do a k-swap just remember to look for other fwd engine options. Such as saab 2.3t and 2.3 duratec(forged internals only on Mazda MSP 6).

Pretty sure the y7 is non-vtec and only made around 100hp. The y8 was the vtec version that made the 120+, I had a d16y8 in my old Ex for the first couple years I had it before my first B swap.
