I am so glad Jocyline is doing well. It’s so sad that some people are here attempting to bully her by invalidating her experience as she remembers. She went through a traumatic experience in high school and the mind has a way of making one remember things differently from how they were. It is hard to believe that everyone that is calling her a liar is fixated on the fact that she says the girl was beaten in church by many nuns as opposed to somewhere else by one. Out of everything she said, which actually traumatized me just listening to her experience, that one part made some people be up in arms! The beauty about graduating high school and leaving is that those who bullied you then, try as they might, cannot bully you in the outside world. Keep soaring high Jocyline. Should I need a lawyer I will make sure I reach out to your law offices. Thank you for sharing your lived experiences! I hope things have gotten better for you all!

In my high school, we didn't have afternoon lessons. Class ended at 1:30PM. Also F1s were exempt from morning preps. When in F3, afternoon classes & morning preps for ALL students were introduced...then that yr the F4s scored the lowest mean score ever. Hizo afternoon classes were swifty removed as we (now F4s) claimed it had put the previous class under undue stress😂😂. Also F1 were again exempt from morning preps.

one of my sisters was in Kotet 2000-2003 ; 1. Unaazia in F1 P and in F3 you are switched to another stream (she finished in 4M) 2. Adult males were not allowed in dorms (even parents)...now Dad in his infinite wisdom sent me as a 13y/o teenager to check if the dorms were fit for sis habitation....jisas kraist teenage hormones hata sikuangalia beds/doors/fire exits....just looked at firm teenage tirries, damn near had a wet dream🙈...it was a newly built dorm (storey buidling). 3. Hio baridi ya Limuru mlikuwa aje na swimming pool ?? 4. Diet was soo good, that out of 5kids only huyo sis wa Kotet gained weight as a high sch teenager, sisi tulikonda mwili hadi vichwa zikabaki kubwa kama watu wako na Kwashiakor smh! 5. Why did you HATE your sisters over at Limuru Girls. 6. My fave story was on Saturdays mornings girls hanging & swinging on DH doors ndio msikose sausages 😂😂😂

This video has touched me, l will comment like a thousand times.... 😂. Nway l feel like this is a safe platform. Anyway, l really Love my Catholic faith. I also went to a school in Nyeri, Tetu Girls, l loved mass, but for the rosary we had divised a way of saying it fast.... The first two hail Marys and last two hail marys.... We used to finish it in a few minutes. How sad. Now I know the joy, of reciting the rosary, it is really a beautiful prayer. When one understands the catholic faith.... It is a beautiful faith.( Not trying to convert anyone) Sorry for your earlier experiences... So sorry. I was in Loreto Limuru too.

I can relate to alot in the conversation. went to Catholic church every single day at 6.:30am. In my school there was also a father who had a relationship with a girl from school. I was called to explain why my bedmate was pregnant and I didn't report. Honestly how was I to know. Nyanza schools are just the worst. I hope things have changed.

Never have I ever related to a discussion this much. I went to a national school in western. N by year 1 I was done with the school. I spent form 2 giving my parents reasons to get transfer me to another school. You guessed right they didn't listen n every opening day I was given my fare and shopping money as if I haven't been lamenting the whole holiday 😢. So when I was to join form 3 aki roho ilikataa ..... Niliingia mat nikawaambia nashukia gari mwisho. Home ni Nyandarua 😂. Spent the the roaming around Nyamakima until a cobra asked me . Na msichana kwani umepotea umezunguka sana. I hadn't noticed I had never come to Nairobi on my own.Went home in the evening n that's how I took myself to a day school near home. Yeah national school to a district school n I still passed KCSE.

I went to the same school with Jocelyn, same period. However unlike her unfortunate experience, some of which I can't relate, I had a normal life, and a lot of positives. I am lucky and appreciate that I went through Lwak, I guess everyone had their own experience. May God help her overcome the traumas she has.

The student-priest thing hurt me real deep. She was a minor jameni, the school had an obligation to protect her. The one remember was beaten in the assembly ground though and only by the principal. Be that as it may, that was a wrong move by the school against that young girl. Also, you may have exaggerated a few things about Lwak jameni.

There's a difference between invalidating and calling out a lie. Further, I'm sure you've noticed that my first statement starts with acknowledging that a student was slut shamed. Some things are true, some aren't

I think these people just had low emotional intelligence...the things they used to do, the nun who was our headmistress is long dead but I still hate her, even in her grave...when I learnt of her death, I literally celebrated. I don't hate nuns neither do I hate catholics but that headmistress nkt...our priests were fantastic though.

Jocelyn didn't lie. Her recollection of the events might not be as accurate because it was a long time ago and our brains naturally fills in the blanks it doesn't like incompleteness. The beating happened in school at the assembly. Apparently the victim's cubie went through her diary where she wrote of her experience with the priest. The cubie took the diary to Sr Miriam who summoned the victim in the assembly and gave her a beating of her life in an attempt to get her to 'confess' that what she wrote was not true. She stood by her words. About the church, the priest wouldn't allow her to take part in anything and at one point he even issued a warning after the lady went to read the bible verse for the day. I doubt uf she was even allowed to eat(take) the holly communion. On the sadaka thing, remember if you were a sponsored student there are struggles you might not be aware of that the rest of the students went through. One last thing, let's remember that trauma is very subjective and let's always try to validate how others feel even though you might not relate to what caused those feelings. This is her story.
