With the underside complete, I have started to tackle the interior to make progress with the project. There was a lot of weld repairs that needed cleaning up and all the sound deadening needed to be removed.
There seems to be a lot of conflicting information online about the best procedure to remove the sound deadening, I attempted the heating method first and found it work totally fine and much more efficiently than expected so carried on throughout the whole car. Then I was able to clean up the welds and epoxy primer the bare surfaces, I use a brush to do this as it is much more effective on small and complex areas.
The bootlid surround required attention, unfortunately this panel is NLA from BMW and no pattern panels are currently available.
The pedal box area had been repaired by me previously but unfortunately I lost the piece I cut out so I had no reference for the previous mounting holes. It took me a while to get this right, then i plug welded studs on the inside so that there was no bolts or nuts coming through to the outside.
Next will be spraying the interior!
