In this episode I will be continuing on with the interior refresh and completing the respray. Unfortunately 90% of this will be covered up with interior bits but I felt it best to make it as good as the rest of the car.
In the previous episode I removed the sound deadening, cleaned up the weld repairs from the underside and applied primer to the bare surfaces. So the first job was to seam seal the repairs and any other areas, then to key the surface to apply the 2k epoxy primer with the spray gun. I decided to go with 1k colour match paint (laguna green) as I didn't want a lacquer over the top or a super gloss finish to match the original.
Unfortunately something I did not show was my home made air dryer setup, this used silica desiccant, similar to this video here: • DIY industrial Inline ...
The 'spray booth' was a cheap 3x6m gazebo, with a sheet over the floor and a lot of masking up to totally seal the area.
