The Tom Paris story arc meant so much to me as a young adult. To see a story about someone that had fallen short of expectations be able to become a valued and cherished person really helped me through some tough times. It was so great to hear that it was the actors input that helped that story arc along. Love it.

I always found the flawed characters more interesting/relatable than the prototypical “perfect” Starfleet officers….they also serve as the audience self inserts.

I just finished watching the episode "Alice" featuring the character Tom Paris, and I must say Robert did a fantastic job playing that role. When I want to get away for awhile, taking a ride with Voyager in the Delta Quadrant is the ticket, always takes me away, even still to the day. Thank you Robert and the entire cast and production team. I'm very grateful for all the work you put into that show, it's a timeless masterpiece, the entire series!

I love Dom, do not get me wrong. BUT. I think Connor is a better interviewer. He listens patiently and asks good questions. He doesn't interject too often or compare the guest's experience to his own. The tone of this show was just ... different. Really enjoyed it. Thanks, guys, for another stellar Shuttlepod Show!

Your Dominic point is spot on. Clearly, no hate towards him but we watch these episodes to hear the back stories of the guests. Dominic's many interjections just kills the flow, quite a bit. So many times I get frustrated while watching the episodes.
@hannibalb8276
@hannibalb8276 6 ай бұрын
Dom is good in that he does a lot of research and knows quite a bit about the guest, but yeah, his style is kinda obnoxious. He is constantly interrupting, cutting the guest short when they are answering, or even injecting himself into the discussion sometimes which is just the worst..

That was such a satisfyingly awesome episode, he seems like such a genuinely nice guy. He has all of the hallmark signs of being a truly excellent leader, I bet the folks around him love working with him. I didn’t want this one to end, I’m absolutely going to have to find your show. And Robbie, write a book, seriously, you have some real wisdom knocking around in there that others could learn from. Your path has had turns, dips and dives that I think a ton of us can relate to, how you handled those are examples for others. Chuck, I mean, come on, that little show had some real heart, I really dug it. Didn’t discover it until the pandemic lockdowns, but it’ll always be one that helped get me through that period. From the bottom of my heart, thanks for that one. Thanks from us fans for coming on the show, would love to see you back if you can.

I just started watching Voyager again in the last week. I was never a big fan of the show due to the premise but I did watch it as often as I could. But my work and school life kept me from seeing the entire series. As a result, I missed a lot of key episodes that addressed the very things I thought the show had ignored. I’m only on season 2 right now but I’m definitely seeing the show in a new light. And as strange as it sounds I woke up today wondering when RDM would be on your show. Crazy!!

Wash mention in the RDM episode...my life is now complete. (Sorry to hear he isn't doing well, I hope he improves!) I was wondering when you'd be having him on as a guest! Tom is my favourite Voyager character and I love the Delta Flyers too, so to say I was excited for this episode was an understatement. Going into it I didn't know much about his life prior to Trek, so I came out of this episode having learnt alot more! Honestly, tons of respect for him for deciding to leave school (a prestigious one at that) and take the soap opera job to make ends meet, that must have been a extremely hard choice to make, so I'm glad everything turned out alright in the end. I definitely related to him talking about exploring other career prospects, landing a job in my field finally happened for me this year, after alot of debating on different paths and shedding some tears, I'm happy I stuck with it and was able to land my dream job. Hearing about his current line of work in directing/producing was super interesting, I feel like alot of actors who try to make that transition aren't super successful or just do it as one time thing with mixed results, it's great he was able to make that switch and absolutely love what he does. I'm happy he's been able to see Voyager with fresh eyes after all these years and talk openly about his time on the show and his character. While I love Tom and his growth is interesting to watch, I'm glad he still brings up how early Tom's characterization was not super likeable, and that he can a look at his character in more than one light so to speak. All in all, another great episode of The Pod, one I thoroughly enjoyed! (I only wish I'd sent in a question about what it was like for him working on Quantum Leap!) Happy Shuttlepod Sunday everyone! 😊🖖🍃💚

Thank you so much for another great episode! It was a shame that Dom wasn't there (although I hope he enjoyed the concert!), but it was great to see Mark in his stead. Thank you for creating a vibe on your show that makes us/me feel like we're just hanging out right along with you and are part of the conversation. Whether your guests are in front of the camera or behind in the ST universe, it has been fascinating to learn about their life journeys and all of the aspects of creating these shows/movies. An extra A+ to RDM for being an REM fan, too! Thank you again!

I was lucky enough to get a pic with Robbie & Garrett (sp?) quite a few years back when Robbie finally came to CalgaryExpo. Garrett has been at CalgaryExpo a lot, which is great. I was extremely happy to be sandwiched between the two of them. Garrett commented on my *leather* jacket & I said it was an homage to Zulu*s snazzy jacket in a recent StarTrek TOS movie. He liked the way I said *homage* - the French way. Great pic too. Wish I had had the time then to meet Robbie individually. I had spoken to Garret a few times before, especially one longer convo when he was showcasing the Captain*s chair in the Vulcan booth. ❤😊❤

if you love Queen...look for Marc Martel. He was handpicked by Brian May and Roger Taylor for their Queen tribute tour. He did additional vocals for the movie starring Rami Malik. 😊

Between work and family and the holiday, today was the first time I could get around to watching this. I came late to this show. I don't even recall what chain of episodes and shows and podcasts led me to the first of the Shuttlepod interviews, but I recall it was the Gary Graham episode and I was hooked. I loved both the history of Trek each episode unveiled, and even more the insight into the livelihoods involved. It's been an amazing look into a world I have no part of save to enjoy it. All that said, is a very long prologue to saying this is my favorite episode you've done so far. I could go on about what moved me about it but I'm sure that days of comments above me have done so. I will say that I'm particularly taken with the way he talks about his opportunities and how he moved with them towards the life he wanted for his loved ones, and was more about how he faced his challenges with humility, and less bragging about his accomplishments.

Thanks! Robert I’ve watched so many shows directed by you. It was great to learn a little about your life and influences. I chose to go into teaching but a part of me will always have wanted to exploring being an actor-and I would still love to direct. It’s good to know that Resident Alien will continue. I loved the dogs at Planet if the Apes in “Chuck.” Everyone at our local Best Buy loved it. Grazie.

Great show guys, Robbie surly is Star Trek Royalty... Shame to hear he didn't enjoy his time on the show so much.. The chemistry with the cast is one of the great things about voyager, and one of the highlights of seeing them together at cons.. One day you'll have to get someone in to really dish the dirt on the whole Kate Mulgrew, Jerry Ryan thing.... But can I give a huge shout out to Erica, who as well as keeps the conversations on point, also asks some really great questions..
