@@robholland5925hey rob I sent in my crescent tote into Morgan’s maintenance a while back , I really like the idea of the ammo box instead of my tote bag as I’m working in all conditions . Any cons to the ammo box ? Or any suggestions for setup?
@robholland5925
@robholland5925 5 күн бұрын
@@Chromed121the biggest con would be that the tools are not neatly organised like in a tool bag. They kinda go into a compartment and you have to dig around for them. In fact about 4 days ago I gave up on the ammo box idea and now use the Milwaukee 4932464080 Packout 3 instead. The pro to that box is that it spreads the tools out wider and has a few organising trays to help separate things out. I do recommend that now. The ammo box I now use for my impact driver and combi drill with changer and drill and bit sets and that works well for me In short using a packout box for a hand tool option will never be neatly organised It’s more a old fashioned box to put tools in But if you have to transport your tools outside a lot then it will keep them dry For me the main point is security. I work in care facilities where I can’t trust the patients. And being able to lock away my tools from easy I’ll grab that and stab you hands is a must.

Still jealous of that black packout trade you 😆. Seriously I've seen people candy or hammered spray paint the packout black before. There's a contractor in town who has all black packout and he paid over a thousand to import it. If milwaukee ever wanted to print money just offer the same packout in black in the usa.

I don't mind ammo cans, although I do find them a bit bulky on occasions. I have all my adapter leads in one of mine. You can use Shadow Foam in them to increase the organisation, but then you loose tool space. Matt has a very busy loadout going on in that bag, nice quality tools though.

The vest is WELKINLAND Top-G Leather tool vest it's cheap but works not hot. I added thoes awp bags to fill the pass through pockets the stiff trap jaw features work great for that. That setup can run you around 100 dollars with additions. I have had the occidental leather and don't like it at all and it's heavier and hot. I've since moved onto diamondback 701 and love it but it's not cheap (get it on sale bare vest and use your own pouches). I do own badgers for framing when it calls for it but they are outdoor work bags as well.

Very nice, as always. I'm tempted again to get a "real" Vessel USB, but I can't argue I need it, at all. My knockoff did well enough when I repaired an air-fryer; maybe a little fast, but no biggie. I really liked the idea of having some Sharkbite caps for emergencies.

Also my milwaukee rep told me they do red for packouts because they are lowering cost in thr usa by making one color of plastic. Since keeter Isreal dosent make packout it's easier to have one color.

The backpack worked out alot better for me though it's no longer a backpack or wearable over the shoulder at 46 lbs. Thoes Japanese levels are amazing and cheap they come in pink orange all kinds of great colors and are under 20 bucks. I've since switched to mp2x and like the extra tool space basically a complete quick grab pouch without the entire bag. Thoes v swap pannels are great and if you order the build out edition you choose the pannels and don't pay for something you won't use it was just under 400? That clip on the front us from ripnot amazing usa product add a super low profile clip anyplace. Every service person should carry a sharkbite cap and ball valve in a bag! I have used 4 this past 2 weeks alone due to old apartments brittle copper changing out faucets. You need the valve to put on pipes that are spewing out water to pass through then shut it off. The insulated instalation pliers are us 12/14g and are amazing to use. I wish they had the spring like thr European market gets and the lock closed. The bottom part of the orange pannel is removable too for bigger tools fyi. Any questions ask away I'll let you know what it us or how it works thanks.

The black scissors are Canary made in Japan carpet scissors they are very good and under 12 bucks ussaly. One thing you missed was on the plumbing tools is what's called a mandle. The silver bushing with the long screws in it. That locks on to shutoff valves or anything without a handle or one thats broken off. It's better than mangling it with cobras and it does minimal damage to threads. That has saved my bacon way too many times and it dosent have to be plumbing it can be gas as well.

The question on will European strippers work on us awg is kinda. The 1.5 if I looked it up right is closest to 16g which would be a European lighting circuit. The 12 g is equal to the 2.5 they use for sockets. I have had my hands on a European stripper before and you an strip the 14g solid ok if you don't bite down hard and control it. It's something the person that had the European strippers that let me try them showed me. The big advantage of the installation pliers euro edition is they are spring loaded like the forged wire strippers. When they come out with a spring loaded awg installation pliers I will defently vote with my wallet and pay the knipex tax.

The shirt I swear by maybe not for open flame is 32 degrees air mesh shirts. They are about as holey as you an get without being transparent. Best yet black dosent show sweat marks and they come in 3 packs for under 20 dollars. If I destroy them move on for 5 to 8 dollars a shirt. They are sold at my local cosco and kohls but you can order online at az. Fun fact you can screen print on them for company shirts!

At its worst here in Portland or we have them available from April to August. They come in 4 packs for 22 and sometimes as 15 or 12 dollars for 4 shirts! We put company names on them. They are as thin thousands thick basically thinner than you think it will be. They are medium strong there not lifetime shirts but for at times 3 dollars a shirt I don't care if they get painted or caulked. I'm a really warm person (shorts and airm mesh shirts in the snow and freezing temperatures. So when summer comes around I need something that dosent show any sweat stains. They only come in white and black at cosco but online other colors ate available. You will appreciate it in Florida for sure!
