loving the new rifle mounted rangefinder, but i really hope you guys come out with one without all the bells and whistles for a more affordable price, a lighter, more compact version that gives nothing but the range out to around 1000 to 1500 meters or so to work for hunting under night vision, i would love an impact 4000 but i can't just afford it and i would only use a fraction of it's features in the field. i know my holds, i just need an accurate distance reading, cheers lads.

I am not a long range shooter, but permit me to recommend a Cole Tac Flat Bag and Backbone Bag Frame. I am sure that it is less expensive, lighter and much smaller than the ARCA bag you showed in in this video. The 419 ARCA bag attachment is much to much just to attach a bag to the gun. Cole Tac also offers some very simple mag pouches which work great with AICS mags. Fix-It-Sticks is the best tool system for working primarily on your scope. For people who are shooters and know their gun well, I recommend that they go to Fix-It-Sticks and configure a specific Kit for their gun(s). As for the spotter scope, go big or use binoculars. Vortex has several good options for binos and you offer a bino adapter that will allow the binos to be attached to a tripod.

Would love to see a whole ballistics and range system out for the public. Something better than the Sig Sauer BDX(2), Burris, and other offerings

Same boat, just means my choices have to be well thought out and practical. Gotta ask myself do I really need this, is there a better and cheaper alternative, how did they do it before this, is this really needed....are all good things to ask before i make a purchase. I read a lot of reviews, and look for bargains when I do find what I want. I never abuse my equipment, and make it last as long as possible.....ever decision is weighed and the question is how is this benefiting to my life.

Mounted my scope to my gun last Friday. Thought I was smart and used a bubble level. After watching this, I realized I’m not very smart. I came back down to redo it and sure enough it was off quite a bit. You would think that it would seem intuitive that the gun has to be level first, but that had not occurred to me. Go ahead make fun of me. Great podcast as always.

Hi Guys, Really got alot from this pod cast, Thank you. It seems that I will most likely be headed more towards target shooting than walking the land so much and hunting as my health is pushing me in that direction nowadays. I did not quite understand the move towards the 6mm creedmoor however. Any episodes you have done to address that issue? thanks...

Hunting with 6mm creedmoor. Best you'll get Is just over 1000 ftlbs of energy at 500 yards ... I don't know if that's long range enough for all that fancy gear bud. Great pronghorn, whitetail, squirrel rifle.

You all should have put AB on it or at least made it connect to a kestrel as a range finder. Personally I think geoballistic sucks for sub minute first round impacts.

@@VortexNation meant to say make it Link compatible. I would love to have this on my rifle and then just use the Kestrel Hud. Or when Im just shooting steel at distance and where .2-.3 mils dont matter I can use this directly. Try imputing a 20mph headwind into the geoballistic software and it wont change anything where the reality is that your projectile will need more elevation. The kestrel gets all these things as it's more than 3DOF. Super sexy on the rifle for sure though.
@VortexNation
@VortexNation 9 ай бұрын
It won't use the AB from the Kestrel, but it will pull the environmentals from the Kestrel. That effect of a really strong head or tail-wind (40+ MPH) would not affect most peoples long range shooting application, also depending on the target size and distance. We just tested this and typed in 881yds with a 50 mph head-wind at 12 o'clock only affected a 300 win mag, 220gr .1 MRAD. Same, results were achieved with the Kestrels we have on site.
@sf2189
@sf2189 9 ай бұрын
@@VortexNation interesting. I’m getting a much bigger differences on a 6 and 6.5x47 vs my Kestrel. Probably my CDM vs the G7 or Multi. I guess I will wait till more people use and test before I pull the trigger - this unit is very appealing. Any chance an AB version comes out at a pricier level or does their licensing make totally miss the market price point?
