This week, with the help of the very useful TJ, we've been pushing on with renovations and problem solving in the house, and with the help of many of our friends and neighbours, the preparations for the Spring Fete are in full swing. On the DIY front, I've been painting about 100m of skirting boards for TJ to fit, and TJ's been problem solving all over the house.
In regards to the Spring Fair, after months of planning and talks with our neighbours and the mayor, and having advertised in local magazines and online, it's now time to cut the grass in the field for the brocante (thank you Stephan!), and hand deliver invitations to the whole village.
With rain forecasted for most of the week ahead, we still don't know yet if the fair will be rained off. Whilst we very much need the rain to fill up the water table and avoid a drought this summer, we'd love to have just enough sunshine to have a brocante in our field (without the cars getting stuck) an art exhibition in the house, and a vintage car and motorbike display in the courtyard. So if you haven't already, please do subscribe and click on the notification bell so that you can join us next week to find out if we were able to have a Spring Fair at all!
