The connection I've got with Middlewich is that Bro in law lives there, he's Manx born n bred. He's also part owner of the Kinderton pub. ( bit posh for me like😂) think he has the same cask on all the time. I'll see if I can influence him. Cheers Andy👍

Alright Andy, I just noticed you on Bramhall channel, then I noticed u subbed me, ( i subbed u as well) this was a brilliant vid, I didn't know this brewery existed. Our local Bushys Brewery also feed their spent hops to the cows in the field next door. Great set up there I must say, 👍

Hi - another great video, this channel is one of my highlights when they drop in - thank you for continuing to make them.. I do have a quick question though if you don't mind please.. i was thinking about your process last night as I had a bit of an issue during a brew with my trub and preventing it from entering the FV, but I realised that with your bottom drain in your copper, I guess you must send all the trub into your FV and not worry too much about it?

Hi Arthur, thanks for your kind words! Although the copper has that bottom outlet, we pump out slowly over about 45 minutes. Much of the trub settles out in the dished bottom but away from the outlet and when we start to pull it toward the outlet with the pump we stop there. Protofloc helps and any that we do pull into the fermenter settles out after fermentation. Just works! I don’t worry about it.

@@FourPriestsBrewery thank you for the response. Hmmm, thats very interesting. I wonder if I'm pulling too fast from the kettle based on what you say, thus pulling too much trub.. Lots of food for thought and defo some ideas that I can play around with going forward by slowing down my drain to FV. Good to hear that whatever small amounts you do pull over, you don't really care about and doesn't affect the finished beer. Thank you!...

@@aolcot What doesn't drop out in the copper will drop out in the fermenter. It never seems to make a difference to the finished beer in my experience. When I am home brewing, the protofloc at the end of boil then a good chill down prior to transfer to the fermenter seems to deal with most of it. I don't pump out at home, just a gentle drain with gravity and as I get toward the bottom of the kettle I watch for too much trub being pulled out. But don't sweat about it, it always works out :)

Hi there, I go through all the costs in Ep.69 so I won't spoil the ending for you. I think we may have a cow episode coming based on the feedback so far. I might make it into a mooosical. Enjoy the binge :) Might take a while.

Parked the idea due to costs and conplexity, for now. Will be heading that way but need a better carbonation solution first. Cheers though!

When I was home brewing, I read lots of books and learned from websites. But then you start to play with your own ideas, and work out what ingredient works with whatever else. Sometimes it's good, and sometimes it's terrible. Eventually it's more good than terrible then you write your own recipes and start a brewery.
