Not a good year for gardening, too hot, to dry, too wet, hurricanes, and now too cold in Florida!!!! We tried to save our vegetables from freezing temperature during holiday.
We have various Asian vegetable seeds for sale on out website.

Yes, the weather is crazy these days. In MD, we went from freezing temperatures to springlike weather, and then we'll be getting back to the cold temperatures again. Thanks for sharing your video with us. You are a fantastic gardener. I bought seeds from you for the first time today! 😊

I been catching up watching the videos you start making again! Wow so happy you made new videos, I missed watching your videos. I hope you are all doing well and keep making videos! I am going to order more seeds soon. I still have some I ordered from before but I want to try more varieties and ones I didn't try before!

I think adding mulch as well would help keeping those plants warm. But this was so nicely done, beautiful garden

This cold is a great way to show how well done of your plants do - I'm zone 5 and your crown daisy Tong Ho is a champ here n so is one of your Yu choy, I get a thinner stalk but it wants to grow n is a cheerful volunteer!

I think maybe the weather will be getting more and more unpredictable in days to come. When I lived up north, I found that covering my plants with a cloth first and then a plastic helped keep the frost from getting to them. I think of it like if I am out in the weather all night. If I put on a plastic jacket, I'm stll going to get frosty skin. If I first put on a cotton/cloth shirt then plastic jacket, I will hopefully stay frost-free till the sun comes up. The colder it is going to get, means I need to put on thicker cloth then plastic jacket. This is the best way I can explain it. I hope it helps. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with us. One more thing, could you please explain what is "sauce paste", and where can we buy some? Thank you!

I am in Florida, like Regine, except in 9b. I brought all my tropical and hot weather plants undercover or wrapped in sheets. Everything survived, even one of Regine's luffa (the fruit, too!); the one total loss was an African blue basil (under roof, under sheet tent). But my first frost in Florida, many years ago, I covered with plastic, and the covered plants did worse than exposed - the cold plastic touching the leaves was NOT good. The good news is that the plastic 'greenhouse' did save the core of most of the plants. Hoping this January freeze is even less damaging than the holiday one.

@@oreopaksun2512 I am glad to hear that all of them survived the frost. What I have survived also. I have more trouble with growing in Florida in summer time, I suppose I'm going to have to go through trial and error. IWhen the package says grow in full sun, most of time the leaves get burned. Now I plant in big pots that I can move around to find the spot they like to grow, mostly in dappled sunlight. I hope you have a happy new year and keep on growing!

@@crystal6284 YES! The Florida summer garden is something of a myth. Take those winter covers and turn them into shade cloth against afternoon sun. I also grow in containers only....not for any reason other than commitment issues, perhaps. The crazy weather patterns are not helping us would-be gardners!

May I ask-how cold did it get there, and for how long? I tried to cover my plants in zone 9a, and did not have the success you did.
