We're in beautiful Colorado and I'm going fly fishing for the first time in my life to see if I can catch my first-ever trout on a fly rod. Fly fishing in Colorado can be a pretty serious sport with expensive equipment to buy up front and gate-keeping anglers protecting their favorite spots and honey holes. Me, I'm a better beer drinker than a fly fisherman but I am bound and determined to see if I can catch my first-ever Trout on the fly rod.
Before diving into this adventure, we're swinging by Outer Range Brewing in Frisco to snag some of their world-class beer. And if everything goes to plan, I'll earn my beer and we'll crack into some "In the Steep" IPA when we get back to camp.

In that same shopping center as Outer Range is a liquor store that carries a good variety of Casey Brewing and Blending so you don't have to go all the way out to Glendwood springs.

Yep that is a brookie. Tip, keep your rod tip low when you are fishing so you have a longer arc on your hookset and you have better control over the fly. If you lived near me I would be more then happy to teach you the art of fly fishing.

I remember my first fly fishing attempt, its SO hard. Its like you have to unlearn your whole cast strategy, it's a different movement altogether. Looks like a nice trip!
