RE: Keezers biggest drawback is the temperature disparity between bottom and top - Why not just put your temp control probe in the bottom? That's where the kegs draw from, right? Does it matter that the temp 2' higher is a little higher?

Thanks for your channel …. Definitely have learned lots from ya My favorite style for sure is saison and have been chasing the perfect recipe for a while and I may have made something super special Simple grain bill of 13.5 lbs gateway winded Belgian Pilsner 75 minute cook and 60 minute boil 122 15 minutes 153 60 minutes 1.75 Styrian goldings (Celia)@60 1 oz riwaka @ 5 2 oz strata dry hop 4 days No mash out Gelatin as clarifier 1/2 teaspoon in 1/4 oz water dissolved 3 teaspoons amylase added to water with salt additions 5 psi fermentation gradually reaching 5 as activity starts then ramping down to 1 as activity slows 3711 wyeast and let it run to where it wants temperature wise …highest activity at 85 degrees and pitched at 74 …house temp 74 Basically tastes like delirium tremens…dry with pear banana and bubblegum to balance it…was chasing DuPont but accidentally made a saison version of tremens Enjoy! I guess that free ferm chamber comes with a minimum number of views, hence the clickbait tactics? Either way, a dislike from me. Just don't! You've got good content, great editing, so why stoop so low?

I didn't think it was low but updated it for ya'll 🍻

I generally really liked your videos Dan, but the title and thumbnail are definitely misleading. Kind of disappointing when you do good content otherwise. The ferm chamber looks cool though. I just don’t know if I’d prefer this over a glycol system, it’s just way bigger.
@HopsANDgnarly21 күн бұрын
Fair enough! Who knew a thumbnail could be so triggering - just updated it for ya'll
@daveshopfenstube21 күн бұрын
@HopsANDgnarly Yeah don't get me wrong, you got me all hooked on the MiniUni tanks so I eventually got my hands on them and they're great, but I think in this very situation making a video which is 50% about a ferm chamber and then setting an expecation in the thumbnail / title for the viewer which wasn't really met, well that may be disappointing. But like I said, I generally always tune in when you release a video.

I like the product, but just can't get around the fact that it won't let you control two fermenter temps independently...

I found a way to fit the Spike CF10 into the RAPT Fermentation chamber by cutting out two of the side shelf supports right where the top fermenter band clamp is, then filling that in with flat plastic and some fridge caulk/epoxy. I can share pics if you want. I had planned on a rolling ramp for getting the full CF10 in and out, but it's easier to just fill the fermenter in-situ and leave it there during fermentation, then take it out once it's empty. I love it, it's easier to deal with than glycol in my opinion. I couldn't figure out how to do 2 mini-unis in there, but I think 2 of the clawhammer keg fermenters or similar wouild definitely work too. Will be curious how you like it, and whether Kegland works with Brewbuilt or others to make a compatible stainless steel fermenter that works with it.

I tried making a hefeweisen for the first time, open fermented and all. I way over shot my gravity on it too 🥲 I usually have pretty poor efficiency and was not expecting a 1.061. Finished around 1,014. Still tastes great with loads of caramelized banana with a clove background. Just a bit too sweet for my taste.

This is pretty similar to a beer I made a few month back. I used the same Vienna rye but I split the base malt with Pilsner malt. I pitched thomasgaard kveik and omega “all the Bretts”. The 10 gallons have been sitting in a keg in my garage ever since. Thinking I’ll try it soon. I did boil mine. Cheers
