As a mechanical engineering student I say this guy is Brilliant I'll give him 10/10 for his work I know it's not practical but he made out a complicated mechanism and it worked !

For sure. It's good cross training for the mind on how to overcome a challenge even if it seems useless such thinking is needed in order sometimes solve a problem that linear thinking isn't solving. For example reactivate armour seemed like a strange idea till it was shown to be effective.

@@RobinMask if you mean that the front wheel has to be spinning to push the bike your wrong, on a bike on the back wheel is spun by pedaling, the fron wheel just gets pushed along, however I don't think you could turn if thr front was legs too

There is not a single engineer on the planet who uses Maya to do CAD! Cardboard for a welding fixture? Also his welds are absolute garbage! The mechanism is called a Theo Jansen Walker and this is one of the more underwhelming examples that I have seen.

This actually has a practical application in off-roading as you won't slip ((contrary to normal bike sending power to wheel which has relatively less traction ) , however you could improve the steering mechanism to similar for better off-road steering.., ( moreover the legs pushing the ground at an angle paired with nails at end ( or something that Pierce's the ground for strong hold ) would also be helpful on muddy surface
