NY State Audit

2 жыл бұрын

On May 23, 2022, I was peacefully exercising our First Amendment right to record in public and publicly accessible areas at the Schenectady County Public Library at 99 Clinton Street, Schenectady, NY 12305. Special Deputy Scott Ferguson is a joke. He escalated the situation from the very beginning. He even said that I wasn't threatened even though he heard it himself until I said I had it on camera so he tries to justify the threat smh. The Library Youth Services Programming Coordinator Chinasa Seyse, took it to the next level. She was the reason why a couple citizens started acting out and should have been the reason why the police were called. Officer Richard B. Desbiens badge number 199, clearly doesn't honor the oath he took to the Constitution. He was going to let the person who threatened me go smh. If you would like to redress your grievances to our government about the conduct in my video, the information is below.

When did it become so absolutely impossible for people to comprehend the definitions of private and public? Where in the Constitution does it state anything about feelings, courtesy, morals, etc? Why can't law enforcement stop attempting to enforce feelings and costing the taxpayers money and creating a further divide between the blue line gang and law abiding citizens.

The 5th and 14th amendments protect us from deprivation of liberty without due process. Which means we have the right to access any and all open to the public publicly owned property until we break a law. Just came across your video and watched it till the end. Big thumbs up to you for keeping your cool and exercising your rights politely but firmly. The librarian and the sheriff get a big thumbs down for escalating the situation and not treating you with respect. The guy who said he was gonna break your phone, ended up where he belonged. When he said he was from Miami and you said they have respect in Miami too, I laughed out loud. That was classic. Overall, really impressive work, I just subbed to your channel and will watch more of your videos.

I am a new subscriber. I watch a lot of 1A videos, and it’s good to find a new person actively auditing. I do however think the guy who got arrested looked a bit down on his luck, and getting arrested almost certainly made it worse. I also believe his arrest was actually the fault of the Sheriff’s Deputy. If the Deputy had assertively told the man and everyone in the library, “look I don’t like what he is doing either, but he has every right to do it and it’s my job to enforce the law and protect his rights” it would have all stopped right there and no one would have been arrested. Furthermore, the only reason they arrested him was because he was an easy target. An easy stat for the arresting officers. The arresting officers in my opinion did not give a damn about the auditor being harassed.

😂 Some people like to look like fools and embarrass themselves by approaching a camera, demanding the videographer stop recording them because they didn’t give their permission to be recorded 😂 Can you imagine walking down a sidewalk taking video but stopping to get permission to video record from everyone passing you on that sidewalk? How about at a water park or Disneyland? Do I need to ask permission to record from everyone entering my camera view? OF COURSE NOT! It’s no different in a PUBLIC LIBRARY. The word “public” says it all in a nutshell. There is NO EXPECTATION OF PRIVACY IN PUBLIC. Given that, how foolish does one look who goes up to the camera and demands the person stop recording because they didn’t give their permission to be filmed? Holy smokes! These people watch to much TV. The only time waivers (and/or permission) are required for taking photos or video recording is when the subject is NOT UNDER CONTRACT with the organization or company taking the photographs or video-and the subject IS NOT IN A PUBLIC PLACE. For instance, A2Z News may ask your permission to use your image/video if interviewing you for a news clip, but that’s done as a courtesy. It’s not required. However, I can come up to you while video recording and interview you (if you allow me to) WITHOUT ASKING FOR YOUR PERMISSION! And that’s the LAW. Some people need to think twice before opening their mouths- especially when it comes to their perceived understanding of their right to “privacy” while in a public space. 😂
