"Adorable, emotional", a little wild too, and filming Puffins in flight certainly improved the reaction speed needed for the secret series😃 Thank you Dani, for beautiful pictures, for ignoring cold feet and bird poo, for funny comments when left behind on islands, and for all the coming wonderful adventures💚

I can see why you especially wanted to go in winter, Dani - what a great snowy backdrop for your excellent series of photographs, and not just of puffins. A few years ago my wife and I went there all the way from New Zealand especially to photograph puffins, but in late spring without snow - still a most memorable trip though! Your video has reminded us again of that special island. We have watched nearly all of your films with real enjoyment, but the two Hornøya ones are perhaps your best yet. Well done!

Dani, I live in North Carolina, USA. I live in the Charlotte, NC. A medium sized city than runs along the border of South Carolina. About 3.5 hours away is the famous Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. A densely populated tourist attraction. The beaches are often crowed, but clean. 30 miles North of Myrtle Beach, just across the border into North Carolina is a place called Sunset Beach, NC. This small island is the home of a bird sanctuary called Bird Island. The only way to access the Bird Island is by foot. By car, you can drive to the end of West Main Street, park you car, make your way to the beach and walk a mile or so until you come to a wooden bench and a mailbox on a post, sitting somewhat up in the dunes. This place is Kindred Spirits, that's how you know, for certain, you are on bird Island. Bird Island and Sunset Beach were two separate islands until September 1983 when Hurricane Hugo, a CAT 4 hurricane, filled in the inlet between between the two islands. Back then, you could only access Bird Island at low tide when the inlet was shallow enough you could walk through the inlet and get to Bird Island. However, you only had a limited time to visit because you had get back across the inlet before it became to deep to walk back across. Also, depending on the direction of the tide, the current flowing into the inlet or out of the inlet could be dangerous to swim through. Kindred Spirits: Inside the jumbo sized mailbox are dozens of spiral notebooks, going back decades, with thousands of dated signatures and short stories of those who had passed through the area to visit the sanctuary. There is a volunteer caretaker of the Kindred Spirits. When there is a chance a hurricane may brush the island, the volunteer will remove the decades of journals from the island and keep them in a safe storage until the threat of the hurricane has passed. Then they are brought back to the mailbox for all visitors to this magical place can sit, sign, read or write their own short story for anyone that comes next to do the same. The only reason I share this story with you is your love sea fowl. Maybe, one day, you can find your way to visit Kindred Spirits, and Bird Island. I myself, am an amateur landscape photographer. I find the colors and shade on Bird Island to be quite different than other places I have photographed along the US coast. Why? Most costal shores in the Eastern U.S. face due East. Bird Island, like Sunset Beach, face South and the Sun rises off your left shoulder and sets off your right shoulder. Have a great day. May the light be "just right" for your lens, today. Alan

Hey Danni Can u imagine this earth without all the lovely animals? I just can't. They make my days alot brighter and bring me out of my depression where nothing else can. Just love wildlife. Those double crested cormorants were so cool. I saw my first here on the top of a high rise building....that's near a pond, so it made sense. What a beauty.

I saw your video with the baby squirrels. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. My 2 kids(grown now) are both gingers. As well as enrolled Comanche Natives. When my daughter was born, I saw her tiny self and bright red hair...so I've called her Skwerl ever since (Alyson is her given name.) We share that bond and she is adorable as a pre-K teacher. Just as sweet and resourceful as your little babies were. Thank you for a beautiful experience. ❤❤

What a spectacular video! You are an amazing photographer/videographer. Taking pictures of birds on the ground is one thing, but in flight, it is not an easy task. Puffins are so much fun to photograph, but my absolute favorite is albatross, so majestic in flight, but quite clumsy on the ground. I had the chance to photograph many a few weeks ago in the North part of Kauai (Hawaii) where they breed from November to May.

Great images of the birds on Hornoya. I have been there twice in spring. At this time there was access to the lighthouse on the hill and also to the cliffs behind the lighthouse where a lot of puffins were nesting. it was possible to take pictures when the birds were approaching the nest from the sea. I heard that a year or so later this part of the island was closed because a big rock felt down where the stairs are.

Absolutely Beautiful Dani, great shots with much better cameras than I had when I was living in North Norway, and in the Shetlands, at Sumber Head in the South. A Pentax was my camera (1970-75) never had any issues with freezing, inside a bag inside my Down Jacket, it's all timing. The one thing I do envy is that there was no easy video/movie. Arctic foxes were a favorite of mine when out Reindeer herding. They would just appear, Hang around, and then as if their cell coverage would head off into the abyss of time. Thanks, Dani for bringing your Time, to Us. Very Special............Robin

One thing I noticed in the intro... You are mounting the VideoMic Go wrong like I was when I first got it... The red shock absorbers need to be flat and up straight. The little triangle indicators shoudl point at the inner corners of the shock absorber when correctly mounted, not outside corners... It matters because the shock absorbers need their maximum flexibility to isolate shock and sound from the camera to the mic. Any pre-tension will greatly diminish its capability in this regard.

Stunning photos as always. The Puffins was so cute!!! 😍 It makes me want to go out with my camera and just taking photos of whatever animals and birds I meet down at the Swedish seaside. The trip to Island would have been really fun to join but I don't have the funds for that so it will remain a dream for now I guess. Keep up the good work! I'm looking forward to the squirrel forest project later. 🐿

Beautiful photography of the Atlantic puffins, Razor-bills, Guillemots, Commorants, etc. You've really captured them in their element in comical, touching, and imaginative ways. Interesting to see them fighting. I've read how birds are not magnanimous although they partner for life in Joan E. Strassmann's "Slow Birding: The Art and Science of Enjoying the Birds in Your Own Backyard." I hope you create a 2024 calendar with your Arctic series, and can't wait to see your next adventure with Arctic foxes and puffins. Jenny 🐧🐺❄
