Hey! Jeff the bartender here. FYI, Dutch Kills has opened a cocktails-to-go window in NYC during the shutdown. If you’re in the area, swing by for a drink! Your support means the world. Hope everyone’s staying safe. ❤️ All your comments are hilarious btw. As for how many drinks were consumed and by whom - I’m taking the Fifth.

Hamed Karama hey Hamed! Yes it’s a combination of fresh pressed ginger juice and sugar. (We briskly stir the sugar into the juice to dissolve it without ever heating the liquid to keep the ginger spicy and fresh)

How to know someone’s a bartender: 1. Their breath smells like absinthe 2. They can hold ice with their bare hands for an incredibly long time.

As a bartender, I really hate it when my clients know nothing about cocktails and spirits, and always complain about the amount of ice that I put in them. "If I want a drink that's completely diluted with ice, I'll just go to McDonald's, and it won't be as pricey as your bar!". Psh.
@ChaplainPhantasm

@@eldrichery853 And the funny part is, most drinks with ice (typically spirit forward, big ice drinks) are not really too diluted, just a little less potent.

Hey, for the caipirinha, the traditional way is to use white sugar. It gives a crunchy and sweet addition to just syrup! It's true that we don't shake it much, or sometimes not at all, but the sugar is important. For one whole persian lime, you use 2 tablespoons of sugar, one for shaking and one for mixing in the glass after you pour it all. Of course, cachaça is added (I use two ounces and a splash).the sugar doesn't dissolve completely, that's why some people even use a coarser type of sugar to bring the crunch to the next level!

I know I'm not him, but as a bartender have helped several friends: Level 1: What you like+ sweet and dry vermouth, Angostura bitters, 1:1 simple syrup, and bottled lemon, lime, and pineapple juice. 90% of the work done if they want something specific. Level 2: The above plus; decent vodka (do not spend more than titos), decent tequila or mezcal, dark rum (I like Jamaican), light rum (I like Havana Club, legal or illegal), a cocktail whiskey either bourbon or rye, a sipping whiskey either bourbon or scotch, a decent gin, and brandy. Regans orange bitters, Peychauds bitters, good grenadine, and honey. Level 3: The above plus: Luxardo liqueur, Campari, Green Chartreuse, Campari, Lillet, Apple jack, apricot brandy, dolin dry and sweet vermouth, sparkling wine, orgeat, dark tiki rum, felernum, and fresh lemons limes pineapple and grapefruit .

MrHoliday yes, this is why it’s 100% worth it to save your “getting totally blasted” nights for drinking at home, and keep your “casually drinking a couple craft cocktails” nights at the bar. If you’re going for a great tasting cocktail it’s worth your money to head to an upscale bar or lounge, but if you just want to get very drunk you’ll save money by doing it at home :)

The measurements are all there, its not measured to the glass its measured to the recipe. The ice is to dilute the drink the desired amount to created a more palatable flavor. If you want a cocktail without ice or not diluted with ice at all, just let the bartender know. But don't expect extra alcohol. It will taste stronger if thats what you want.

Unfortunately that isn't how a Bramble is actually made. The creater in London has taught the drink to people who want to know the real recipe. First you don't muddle the berries they are a decoration. It is built in the glass not shaken at all. And it is lemon juice and simple syrup it was a cube of sugar to muddle with lemon in the glass but you can use sugar syrup. Then gin is poured in stirred with crushed ice then the ice is topped off like a fix then it has creme de mure' poured on top to drip down to form the look of Bramble stems that hold the blackberries bench the name and garnish is lemon wedge down the side and blackberries on top. It's a English Cocktail and please make correctly. People who know will send that thing back. Because it doesn't taste as good. And it's a experience and subtle changes as you drink it.

Cocktails are a little passion of mine :) I even try to create some new ones sometimes, and so far I've made two great ones (a non-alcoholic one, and a cocktail with liquor) Original cocktails I already made: - Caipirinha/Caipiroska (A caipirinha variant with vodka instead of cachaça) - Screwdriver - Cuba Libre
