How in the heck are yall not getting more than just a few hundred views? This is the best podcast on the internet!! I've enjoyed just episodes more than once. Seems like I'm listening to my long lost cousins. Can I make the suggestions of breaking down the Cairo museum and some of the artifacts there. And can we get a David Hatcher childress interview I know you have the connections!!

Ive listened to this retelling of Gilgamesh several times mostly because it's hissssterical. Also the Snakes musings on the hidden meaning and symbolism is quite revealing.

That was great! Thank you, guys. Indica or Sativa? I reckon, the latter. :) That's the most hilarious rendering of Gilgamesh I've ever heard. Great analysis too. Sorry you've missed magic objects Me that used to power the Ferryman's boat, before Gilgamesh took care of it. :)

On another subject! :D (amazing podcast btw) @2:03:34 about the fairy tale of the woman... with the gift (curse) of prophesy... This is the Greek myth about Cassandra who was admired by the god Apollo (not his sister Athena) who gave her a gift to see in the future. When she refused his advances, he sought to punish her, but he could not take away the gift of prophecy he gave her. So instead, he cursed her. Cassandra could still accurately see into the future, but the curse was that no one would believe her. She would try to warn of disasters and even though she was always accurate, she had to suffer with the horror that these things would go down and she was completely powerless to do anything about it. Today this is a term used in psychology called Cassandra Complex. The Cassandra metaphor (variously labeled the Cassandra "syndrome", "complex", "phenomenon", "predicament", "dilemma", "curse") relates to a person whose valid warnings or concerns are disbelieved by others. The myth you are thinking of is the Myth of Arachne. Arachne was a weaver who acquired such skill in her art that she ventured to challenge the goddess Athena. Athena wove a tapestry depicting the gods in majesty, while that of Arachne showed their amorous adventures. Enraged at the perfection of her rival’s work (or, alternatively, offended by its subject matter), Athena tore it to pieces, and in despair Arachne hanged herself. But the goddess out of pity loosened the rope, which became a cobweb; Arachne herself was changed into a spider, whence the name of the zoological class to which spiders belong, Arachnida. Ovid’s Metamorphoses is the chief source of the story.

1:25 do I hear a bong in the background? I know I hear a lighter/inhale at 5:03 lmao, is that why this is the funniest, most EPIC episode I’ve heard yet??😂🐍 admittedly, im only through maybe 30-40 episodes going in no particular order, but wow do I love this one. You guys rock! Literally, Aeternum has been stuck in my head for days since I woke up hearing it as a “break track”, and immediately had to look up the lyrics and find out what it was. Masterful telling of the Tower of Babel. Can’t wait to obsessively listen to the rest of your discography until I hate it, as must be done with all great music. Have an equatorward day snakes!

@Brothers of the Serpent Hi! @21:00 - @28:00 ...I wonder if, in some cases, we are trying to separate the qulility of workmanship into two different kinds of technologies (skill-sets) where one kind did this incredibly precise high quality carving, and another (like you said), looked like a child tried to etch the stone with a nail? (A good example is the Serapeum boxes). Some artifacts certainly could have been a later in-time group of workers trying to (in their way) to reverse-engineer earlier crafter's accomplishments by trying to copy what they see, or take an object and claim it as their own... Those statues of seemingly alien-like supreme quality of carving and polishing, with really crappy heiroglyphs scratched into the bottom are definitely a case for that.. but those earlier craftsmen didn't just come born into the world knowing how to create advanced precision stonework. They had to have learned by being students under a master crafter themselves. Could it be, that in some cases, the poorer quality work is not literally by a child, or an unskilled person from a later civilization, who lost the know-how and tools, claiming ownership of a more ancient high quality item they didn't create, but possibly an individual in the "learning phase" of how to carve something, in some kind of ancient workshop or school/place of learning, and the extreme high precision quality is the product of their mentor at the time who was a master craftsman? I know there have been archaeological sites found of "workshops" for embalming both humans and animals - there are bas relief images and paintings on the walls of the dead and proceedures/instructions on how to do the embalming. Perhaps we have been thinking ancient egyptians mummified all these different animals because they worshipped them (cats and crocs aside), when in fact they were just students using animals to practice for their real jobs of mummifying humans? Maybe it's the same with some stonework, where sites with carvings of different qualities were actually workshops, and we are just assuming they are places of worship with two different technologies, or aquisition of an artifact by someone who didnt create it, was going on?

Absolutely! I’ve had a similar thought of Gilgamesh and enkidu were different peoples or civilizations that warred before the taurids caused the ice age but survived and became allied and managed to stop the complete destruction leading to the ice age

Since Im still listening.....Ive been a 🐇...hole splunk'n for most me life, son of the man that invented the phrase " off a tenth.."close qoute ..and my closest friends are contractors or sum type of " builder/ Johnson" ...while my " title " would be rebel entrepreneur or sum'n close to that ...but Im digress'n and just wanted to say my best friend since 1990 is a dude that hated me as I was the Gilliganmesh of my highschool and he was Ankidoodle....until one day we where at the same location and encouraged to gett ett on .....and after about 45 secs to 55 seconds of deadly combat ( we where locked up like 2 bucks during spring rut) we let go of each other's grasp and been best buds ever since ...but all my buds would look at me like skirp dirp back around 2015 but the one thing I can always grab their minds with is the thoughts around the megalithic stuff around the planet and how da hell Johnson built dat 💩....I believe there is more answers in these proofs than anything discussed in any college campus since "whenever ".....so stay 🐍'n and sqirp dirp'n and the brotherhood will possess the stone ( yeah the stone) and become all powerful.....and one more thought about the pyramids ,check out x men apocalypse, they are on to sum'n ( just the beginning, you can turn it off after the pyramids part but even if they weren't for that it was Hellywoods best reenactment for 3 minutes)...but holla late....ssss🐍nake

@Brothers of the Serpent For some reason I thought that Gilgamesh was supposed to be Noah? I thought. But he sounds more like Jupiter and the storm on Jupiter would be his eye. I mean think about it he's always fighting, taking what he wanted, doesn't that sound like Jupiter, his storm and his gravity?

Really, really great take on 'Gilgamesh for stoned 7th graders'. Which one is the 'Laugh Track'? Seriously, it's worse than a Disney sitcom. Have you ever sat and listened to your own work? Because I can't tell the difference between this or Bevis and Butthead. There's a full hour of content which is just you two laughing within the context of inside jokes, of which the listener is not privy. Newsflash, this epic is not a comedy, and if you did manage to glean any actual meaning from it, that is not apparent. Based on the title, I was looking forward to a lighthearted re-telling/discussion on this epic tale. What I got was a sub-juvenile, puberty fueled chuckle-fest. Are you proud of this effort?

@@nocarrotjuststick3375 I haven't been 10 years old for a long time, so I won't be 'getting it' any time soon. There's nothing here to 'watch' except 2 hours and 20 minutes of your logo, so I 'listened' from the beginning to it's completion. It was horrifying. This is work you posted, so don't get salty like Ryan Johnson when you get called out. If you intended for something else to be included, you didn't include it. That's not my error.

@@larkljc Dear 3rd party Karen Buttinski. As a 60 yr chair-weigher-downer it certainly sounds like you have a real 'lust for life' . Yes, I've listened to many of their vids and most aren't as bad as this one, of which I stand by my assessment. I even learned one thing from them. Unfortunately for the knowledge part, they aren't willing to do any research themselves. I can't tell you how many times they say things like "I don't know how to say that word" and just move on, instead of spelling it or looking it up or something so the audience can fill in the blank. Most vids are a recap of other people's work including reading 'Forbidden Archaeology' verbatim for 10 episodes or so. They never read an excerpt from something and then say 'Let's take a deeper look at this subject' . Because they are lazy millennials who need to be spoon-fed. They're busy running off with Randall or to Egypt, but nothing ever comes from it except confirming other people's findings. Even for 'conspiracy' channels this is a 2 or 3 out of ten, at best. They average about 2K views on 2yo vids, which is pretty poor. There's no stick up my ass, but there exists a persistent quest for knowledge of which this channel is incapable of delivering, but the entertainment value is a solid 5 out of 10, so there's that at least. Good luck with your cats in the future.
