I also don’t like the “waiting” season. My husband and I struggled to conceive for three years. I had reached a point of obsessing over being pregnant. Then I completely changed my mindset and laid that area of control at Gods feet, and trusted in His timing. Started living my life in gratitude of what I DID have and stopped focusing on not being pregnant. You can probably guess how the story ends! I can see how single people will get that same obsessive mindset of wanting a husband in their timing. That’s why living in gratitude for what you DO have, taking your eyes off of what you don’t, and giving full control of your life to God is so important

Thank you for saying that Jonathan. I have so often heard on podcasts that if you are single you are just in your waiting season! I never liked that term. If I never get married I do not want to be in a waiting season my whole life!

Man her point about David and Paul having good Godly desires and yet being told no was special to hear and I needed that. Also about just praying the desire would be taken away I’m definitely guilty of. Thanks so much for this one!

This was great…..a sigh of relief to be honest. Being single and 43 at church and being asked if I have a family, and saying no, THEN the awkward pause from them…. Interesting 🤭

Hi everyone, may the Lord bless you all from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic! I'm a 41-year-old Christian, single, mature woman who really wants to marry and have kids sometime in the future but focused on God and His Word. I love Tara's podcast and it's amazing to listen to!

This episode was so amazing. I was just thinking last night listening to her recap, how such a young, extremely intelligent, God fearing woman could be single. I started the Bible in a year on Jan 1st and TLC helps me see things in a way I hadn't thought of. For one she opened up my eyes how I should be reading the Bible to see God, His character and His love to be in a relationship with us when I was looking to relate stories to my life and a "to do" list. She is brilliant and I hope she and all of us find someone who can inspire each other to be better, closer to God and just have faith that God has a plan for us and that plan is good.

I like that the Scriptures give us the option of marrying or remaining single. I choose to remain single permanently. I have no need or desire to date or marry. I live by myself and enjoy my freedom and independence.

Another fabulous interview with TLC. You do the best interviews with her. Thinking about why... maybe because I so enjoy hearing a male point of view. But, you do ask the right questions, too. I was married young for 7 years and divorced for 15 years because I wasn't going to make another mistake. I enjoyed the singleness but not in the way I should have. Internet wasn't even around in those days, but I sure could have used Tara Leigh guidance. Thank you so much for sharing her and her words of encouragement to single people.

It would be nice to hear about dating from someone who has successfully made a decision on who to marry after going on dates rather than someone who seemingly just goes on a million first dates. We often hear about how hard to date it is for a woman who loves Jesus, but lately for men who love Jesus, it's very hard because some women expect absolute perfection in order to just get a second date, let alone make them your wife. We get closer and closer to legalism on this topic although it's better than not talking about it at all. God bless!!

This is easily my favorite episode of this entire podcast. Probably changed my life, but I do have a question: unlike David and Paul, for most people God chooses to stay silent and not give a definite answer of yes or no on the desire for a godly relationship, why is that? If it’s not God’s will, why does He remain kinda ambiguous or silent and asking for our continual surrender of the thing we ask for instead of eventually answering such prayers like He did with David and Paul with their deepest desires? With God’s answer being no, they still had to surrender to that and I’m sure they were at peace knowing God’s will for their desire. Cause there are 40-something year olds still out here pursuing the Most High deeply but their desire for a godly relationship only grows deeper and deeper as the year goes by…and maybe it can seem a lil unfair and manipulative of God to keep them in the unknown just so they have something to continually surrender to Him or something. I know that last part sounds super ignorant but I’m genuinely seeking guidance for this

The Bible gives us examples of God's character, his ways. He often reveals himself to those in the Bible so that they would believe and trust. Now for us today, we take the truth of God and by faith we live out His word, whether we see Him or not. We always ask God, "God, do I do a, b, or c?" If you have the spirit of God in you, if you abide in Him, if you fully trust in Him, it doesn't matter which option you choose. By faith you're believing God will guide you and sustain you in whatever course you take, as long as you do it unto His glory, for His will, for His purpose. The problem with most is that they don't know God's will, his purpose, or they do it for selfish reasons. Once you get those three down, it doesn't matter what job, where you live, which Godly woman/man you choose.

These older married people teaching about being happy single maybe for life can be very misleading. This all too common type of singleness encouragement from married pastors has become disturbing.
