Even in the 2016 semi, Simmons was playing a very Babar-esque innings for the most part. The idea was that, Gayle, Charles, Samuels Russel play aggressively from the other end and Simmons accelerates in the end. In the Rohit example as well, the Indian team bats around Kohli as he holds one end. Having an anchor is fine imo as long as they have the capability to accelerate if need be and that's the only place where Babar lacks. And Osman mentioned it himself that Babar does have that ability but I guess it's a mental blockade for him atm.

I think for Babar to Anchor he probably needs to bat at 3. Haris needs to open with Saim. That way PZ can go really hard at the top and if a collapse or early wickets go down Babar can Anchor the innings.

Problem with Babar and basically diff b/w him and Kohli is while Kohli will anchor and single-double to the end, as innings approach death he goes for big shots and actually connects the bat for sixes eg PakVInd WT20 '22 MCG against Haris Rauf. In every instance Babar will accumulate runs at 145 SR but when he tries to hit a 6 he mistimes and gets caught. So its not that Babar doesn't wanna be aggressive its that he's lacking in power hitting.

Babar is definitely better T20 Cricketer than Steve Smith or Kane Williamson. Aussies have move past Smith, they will probably still carry him in T20WC, where they expect a few tricky slow surfaces on one or two matches, low scoring encounter and Smith will take them home. Williamson has definitely upped his T20 game, increased his range of strokes, but Ravindra will be a better choice. Also, he has got Conway, Finn Allen, Phillips, Chapman, Mitchell along with. I will say Kohli a level above Babar. But what separates him from Kohli is range of strokes and bottom hand play. Again, for good bottom play, you need to do weight training. Even if the ball is not in Kohli's arc for classy top hand strokes, he can just trust his bottom hand muscles to clear the boundary.

It's weird how Pakistan today is so much like India of the 90s. PCB is so obsessed with making Babar a brand like Tendulkar of the 90s except he even isn't as good.

If I was Babar I would say the hell with it and start playing League to save myself from delusional Pakistani fans. Since when SR of 160 and 141 isn't enough? Where would zalmi would have been if Babar didn't do what he did today? Ajeeb c awaam hay, 1 world class player Mila hy duao sy or sabhi us ky peechy parh gaye hay. I really hope Babar take break for pct to give reality check to these kirkut expert. Fh leave him alone for ffs

its a team sport, not a battle for an individual to end up with 140 SR. there is a reason Babar doesn't get many T20 league contracts, has never won the PSL, and has been traded twice.
