Hey Aron, Esee already makes the Izula in a stainless steel. The one you have is 1095 carbon steel. I have a couple of their knives but I have not had the chance to check out any of Tyto's stuff yet.

I'm a backpacker but really like a lot of the philosophies behind the Get Home Bag, do either of you guys keep one? If so, ever thought of doing a video on it? Items are all about the same, but the philosophy behind it is always worth listening to.

Nice, and not so long I needed to watch in two sittings :-) Have you tried bicycle inner tube for fire lighting in the wet? Cheap, multipurpose, use it for lashing stuff, insulate battery terminals, and burns really well even after submersion. Contact lens cases, the little things that can carry two lenses and solution in a pair of little reservoirs with screw caps...good for carrying a trip's worth of sun screen and some hand cream/lip balm. The right stuff can also help that fire lighting problem. Loksak, like Ziplok, but heavy duty and properly waterproof, lighter than phone cases, but a little less sturdy. Thanks for all the great work!

This is a great video, thanks. Seems like a lot of different repair materials though. Gorilla glue Duct tape; also works on feet. My .02 for emergency firestarter. Vaseline and cotton balls, impregnate the balls then stuff them in the waterproof match case. When using pull apart, in half first then open each half up like the hair on those troll dolls. Hit this with a spark from ferro match. Fire, anywhere anytime, even with wet wood in rain if you'll stand over it to keep rain off. Learned from Kummerfeldt. That guy has great emergency survival stuff. Worth checking out.

I used the Leukotape on my heels last year and it lasted until I got home. I'll be doing that as a pm from now on. That was a great tip from Aaron. I'm kind of partial to Bic lighters and keep a few in random places. I also have the matches and trioxide. Thanks for the videos guys.

I like to keep a few bic lighters tucked away too, solid suggestion

I like to have flint and steel with char cloth; i know it's heavy but it's just one more way to start a fire, and it a challenge; i have a little old-school blood in me. I also like my Pocket Bellows, it's only about 2oz but in a wet environment it's a God send.

Great videos what is the type/brand of cord you are carrying, the green neon? Been trying to find something like that because the paracord is so thick and heavy to carry 40-50 feet.

I really didnt like that Black Diamond headlamp. They constantly dim, so their burn times are incredibly inflated. Yes you may be on "high" but your only at 250 lumens for just a short time. Got rid of mine after the first set of batteries. Id rather have a light that runs at the advertised lumens and cuts off high modes when the battery is almost dead.

This is a great example of how "one man's shit is another man's gold", so I'm glad you posted. I've had great luck with the B&D and the battery life is much better than my Petzl with the same specs. What HL are you using, brother?

You might carry these items in a first aid kit but I also have; needle, tweezers, fingernail clips.

Anybody who doesn't have a needle and thread is a cull. Good for equipment, and good for suturing people. I have a suture kit. And any sane person carries size 2-3-4-5 assortment, with preattached needles. It weighs hardly anything. Four sutures will get you through many inches of suturing . This guy brings mango scented lip balm so he can't smell animals, and doesn't bring a needle and thread. If I were Brian I would be embarrassed to post this video. But the guy sure has a lot of glue to huff and a lot of pills..... This is embarrassing. ... For thirty dollars on Amazon you can buy a kit with a variety of foreceps to figure one you like, and maybe forty sutures, and a silicone rubber practice "wound station", so you can learn how to do it. What , are you gonna activate a helicopter when you're eight miles in because of a cut? And if you can't get to a doctor within maybe eight hours they won't suture because the cut won't generally set right. This guy literally has five different kinds of pills, and three or four kinds of glues and patches, and no needle and thread. But at least he has stimulant preworkout. This is so embarrassing.

So curious about the sleeping pills and choices... no joke... What's the real need for those? On other videos, guys use ear plugs to sleep better because of noise. I've not done overnights in the deep woods in years but want to again and this has me wondering so please let me know and thanks!

One of my favorite products is the sleep spray from Sthealthy Nutrition. When we are in the mountains and packing heavy loads and doing strenuous work hiking up and down them, good sleep is a must! It can drastically change how you and your body feel. Especially doing it day after day after day.

@@Freddo4J they're drug addicts. No needle and thread, but lotsa pills and glue to huff. No sutures with preattached needle, no needle and thread..... This is a nonsense kit. Number one is needle and thread for clothes. number two is sutures. Number three is fire. Number four is light. Then blister treatment, bandaids etc . But instead they bring lotsa pills. Embarrassing video. The ones that save your life are fire, Israeli bandage, sutures. The rest is for playing Patty cakes. And they don't have sutures or needles at all. Tape is great, but it ain't a needle and thread. not even close.

Matthew Henry - Hey Henry, what kind of dude am I? Just curious. I'd say I'm a get shit done guy. I'm a don't quit guy. I'm an honest guy. I'm a what you see is what you get guy. I'm a make-a-positive-difference guy. I'm the kind of guy that focuses on the strengths of the people around me and looks for the good in people. I ain't weak--mentally or physically; if you think otherwise, you underestimate me. And that's okay--I kinda like it. Life wouldn't be the same without a few haters to spice things up.
@3sesh37 жыл бұрын
Funny how people make snap judgements based on what? You don't know Brian or Aron for that matter. If you did it wouldn't be for very long with that attitude, both of them are freakin badass and do nothing but get shit done and try to have a positive influence on those around them. But hey, I guess every comment section needs a good internet alpha.
