Crappies in Hayward

This week we headed to Hayward to fish with Pete Maina, and his dad Tex. We’re doing something that was pretty unconventional not too long ago, fishing deep basins for crappies. It’s pretty straight forward, find the deepest part of a lake, and punch a bunch of holes, and use your Humminbird to see where you mark fish.
We experienced a pretty tough bite, but still managed to catch a good bunch a fish, as well as a exciting flurry right before dark!

When I was in second grade my dad worked for one of his sponsors. We were invited to a huge ice fishing party where he was filming. My dad's friend caught a northern on a tip up and I was standing next to him when he did making me appear on the episode later in the week. Now that I'm 35 it's still a fond memory of mine. This show Is a Midwest legend. Happy to see its still going after all these years.

@@kylepleckham4765 I saw that, there's 5 lakes there. The GPS picture of the lake didn't look familiar to me. I was trying to see a landmark to see if it was placid, upper twin, lower twin, etc.

Anyone besides me notice that john ALWAYS has to put his hands or arms on the individual he's talking too ?? Kinda CREEPY to me ! Just sayn !! Besides that, I Love his show though !!
