If you do ever strip the 5/16 UNF drain or level plug you can easily tap them out to 1/8th BSP or NPT. Rebuild these pumps weekly. The diesel thats building up in the cambox of your pump is coming from worn plungers/elements. They are only meant to have the same oil in them as the engine. A small amount of diesel in the cambox wont affect anything. There is supposed to be an overflow pipe at the very rear of the outside of the pump body. When it starts to drip you know you have issues. Lack of oil in tne pump will cause excess endfloat leading to the engine hunting, rough running.

Have a 7700 for years. Will lift anything. Pull anything. Full of life. A Bull of a tractor. I love it!

@@thomasfranklin4307 only one problem. She keeps bursting brake rod seals like biddio. Messy old job to replace them.

The simms minimec should have a overfill pipe to drain any excess oil incase you overfill the injection pump, This pump has been fitted by Ford uk right back since the diesel major and all the Ford 5000 & 7000 until they switched to rotary pumps which were less reliable and a lot more noisy.🇬🇧🇮🇪.

My ford 3000 3 cylinder has the same injection pump except just 3 cylinders. My helper told me we had to put oil in this and it stopped me in my tracks. LOL Say add WHAT ???? So I did as he said thankful. Mine has a special spline socket to take the pump apart across the top. I read it is 34 splines. Where as over seas makes it with 33 splines. So far I cannot find any no where. Guess I might just make my own. And parts for the pump is hard too. Good video

That’s because our govt changed the diesel in the early 90s,I believe it was, so the diesel doesn’t have the lubricants it used to have anymore.

Lack of oil or dirty fuel or fuel with water in it is biggest cause of issues with those Minimec injector pumps.
