SSL giving us hobby musicians great bang for buck :) When i jam into my SSL six live it almost sounds like a finished record! Putting this EQ on the master could be cool too!

Awesome, picked the UVEQ to apply to my stems coming off my console and it does exactly what I hoped and heard in this video. Just opens up the clarity in top end, pulls the boxiness out of the mids and removes that often cloudy bass build up. You can then add it back in on the final mix as well if needed or just use that trim to give it a pump in vol. Great price on these at the moment too. Win Win. SSL can really have an impact now with their prices coming down considerably. Great move on their part.

QUESTION: When u EQ the "Groups", do u make a new stereo track in the DAW, so that eventually you're mixing with stereo "Carved Groups"? I need/WANT a SiX (for tracking) or two (for mixing/mastering), but this information is a key piece of the workflow puzzle...

I have a question. I mix with SSL plugins but I've never worked with hardware (except audio card). Can you use the same Compressor for different instruments or do you need the same amount of compressors with the different instruments you are work with?

IDK man those pre's might be a little muddy! :( Don't think I can do it! Didn't really like the Super-analogue stuff either though so I'm biased I guess...not against all SSL, just their cheap stuff! It's like Golden Age Products instead of a 1073 it's a Pre73-Jr. Now you can argue all you want, but you damn well know that going through a 1073 sounds way fucking better than a Golden Age Pre73, and takes way less EQ moves to get it to sit well in the mix! In fact there are many times if you pic the right mic, and right placement...you won't have to eq at all with the proper gear used to record it! That's how you should always track. Problem is, I was never able to do it without good gear. Some say..."Look at Dimebag...he tracked through Behringer crap all the time! Well...I loved Pantera since I first heard Cemetery Gates back in 90/91. But now that I hear Pantera I think Dimebags tone sucks ass! It's all muddy and tinny. NO BEUNO! I wanna re-mix all of their shit! Desperately!) Wish there was a great 9000 series channel strip in 500 series format! Actual 9000 series though....not some Superanalogue crap! That shit is not an SSL9000J console(which I have mixed on and heard and it sounds fucking amazballs. So much so that just running though it and doing absolutely NOTHING to the signal will make everying sound better! Now that's amazballs! You don't have ta do shit, just run though it and it improves your sound! Who in their right mind wouldn't want that?
