I solved it by writing x^x=x^2 as e^ln(x^x)=e^ln(x^2) so then you can apply the logaritm exponent rule and write it as e^(xlnx)=e^(2lnx). Then we can say xlnx=2lnx, subtract 2lnx from both sides and we get xlnx-2lnx=0 and by factoring it becomes (x-2)lnx=0. So x=2 v x=1.

Maybe it would help to explain just why 0 is not a valid answer for those convinced 0^0 has a value.

@@dorfl9773I would say it kinda depends what kinda math you're doing. In calculus that's a useful answer, in other branches of math it's a less useful answer. But simply stating it's 1 when that is not the universally accepted position by experts is an oversimplification
