I got my ergodox ez about a month ago and i went with kailh box whites (very clicky), but while being kinda fun at first, i hated the feel and the clickiness made the ergodox sound and feel very plasticy. After seeing your video i bought a set of milky yellows and it completely transformed the keyboard, im loving everything about it now. Thank you for you inspiration!

surprised at the use of milky yellows on this, as I'd always assumed they were a budget switch, but using a budget switch with something as expensive as an ergo dox is an unusual choice. Still super cool though

I got mine used a few years ago and it came with Cherry MX (probably the stock ones). They had a horrible rattle from play in the switches. I put in some inexpensive Akko linear switches and expensive KAT Iron caps. It is really nice sounding now. I type heavy so it's louder than yours but similar. I don't like the unlabeled keycaps so finding sets has been a pain. KAT seems to generally include Ergo caps as an option. These feel nice but I'd rather have a lower key profile that didn't vary by row.

Great video. I've watched it a couple times now and am considering getting this keyboard. Only problem is choosing the backlit or rear lightning version.

thank you so much!! depends on what kind of keycaps you like. i regretted choosing the backlit coz i ended up with this keycaps and the light doesn't go through the keycaps at all. personally, i think the rear lighting would look nicer.

Love the aesthetic, and i also use a one handed keyboard just for art shortcuts, though i don't use a split keyboard. Just one of those gamer one hand keyboards XD I will say this is definitely on my list to try, but i know for myself i will DEFINITELY be using keycaps with letters cause HAHAHAHA my memory sucks lol

I can't decide between the ergodox and the moonlander! I think the moonlander's thumb cluster will feel better for my hands. but the ergodox case looks prettier and I care about ~aesthetic~ too

I am still learning mine. However I decided to get a blank EZ and learn Colemak at the same time. Pain. It's slowly becoming worth it though

Cool, it's hot swap. Mine is old version, soldering, and it's a pain to change the switches.

Noticed that you inverted the palm rest when showing the tablet. I prefer to use them like that normally. The original position puts my wrists on the edge, but maybe I just have large hands.

thank you! i used KBD switch pads (kbdfans.com/collections/keyboard-part/products/kbdfans-switches-pads-2-versions) and yeah, i did end up modding it using both masking tape and duct tape, make it thocker. it sounds better but it's not a drastic change.

I got one recently too! I got akko jelly whites and waiting for some new keycaps. Still does not sound as good as yours. maybe I will buy the foam stickers. Where are they from?

ohh!! the switches are so pretty! I'll to look for a sound test :D the foam does help, I'm also tempted to open the keyboard and do the masking tape mod but I'll save that for later hahah. yeaaa in the end i changed the keycaps coz i can't deal with blank keycaps for this keyboard 🤣 but the customization is really great i got 2 layers for clip studio paint shortcuts :')

welp, I'm not sure to be honest, it really depends on ur preference. I'd say you go with moonlander if you care more about it being ergonomic. But personally, I like the ergodox's design better than the moonlander..

Hey! How did you know what keycaps to buy (mostly thinking of the thumb cluster)? I soon should be getting my Moonlander and I want to get new keycaps

Hi! It would be great if you could find a XDA profile since it's flat. Mine is PBT and since it's blank, I can easily assemble it. I ordered the thumb cluster seperately, one that will match the keycap set. I googled the layout of ergodox and i found an image that tells you the size of keycaps you'll need. In my case I needed, 12x 1.5u and 4x 2u.
