Eric Clapton and George Harrison jokingly called themselves husbands in law. First George was married to her. Eric fell in love with her and the song Layla was born. She ended up marrying Eric but George and Eric ended up good friends in spite of that. The original Layla by Deric and the Dominoes is AMAZING! Love your reactions and appreciate your obvious love of the music lots of us grew up with. 😀💜

What a lovely acoustic live version of this well known song. It was originally performed by Derek and the Dominos, a band formed by Eric Clapton in 1970, I think. Such a fabulous guitarist, always remember he was in the 1960s band The Yardbirds. Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck were also in this band at different times. Couple of favourite songs from them are Heart Full of Soul and For Your Love. Great reaction, guys, thanks.

Both this mellow-vibed, stripped down version, as well as the kick-ass original from Derek & the Dominoes (with Clapton and Duane Allman) are so different, but each is so perfect. You'd be depriving yourselves if you didn't go listen to the original rocker.

You should check out Eric's oirginal, faster version of "Layla" from 1970, when he formed Derek and the Dominos. It's much better, in my opinion!

I've always loved the original, electric version of Layla, but when I first heard him do this version on MTV's Unplugged, it totally blew me away.

This concert is from 2014 in Budokan, Tokyo. He is "just" one of the best guitarists ever. There's an amazing version of this song on LiveAid in 1985, where Clapton plays, with Phil Collins on drums, at JF Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia for 100,000 people.

Guys saw him in Dublin, Ireland Phil Collins on the drums what a night. He came out for the encore by himself just playing the guitar for ten minutes, when the rest of the band walked out on stage the crowd booed. He was that amazing.

Yes. Eric Clapton live!! Great artist! You should really see Wonderful Tonight Live. It's from the same concert 1999 Madison Square Garden!!👏😁♥️Sorry u did the acoustic version. I thought it was the live 1999 concert. Check out Wonderful Tonight @that concert. It's worth it!😁♥️

One of his best that has not been reacted to is "She's Waiting". I recommend the 1985 Live Aid concert version to react to. You won't regret it.

Eric Clapton is an all time master on the guitar that is for sure. But please check out this song (video or audio) when he/they did it 50 or more years ago so much more energy and excitement that the young have.

The intro and rhythm shows why he has been referred to as "Slow Hand". He has played for many years "Royal Albert Hall", don’t know if it was their but he does play the RAH. As far as seeing him he was here in NV, girlfriend talked me out of going and he hasn’t been on this continent since. Point is: if you get the chance GO!!

I love how you enjoy and feel the music! I saw Eric Clapton live in concert, together with Steve Winwood, in June 2010 - the arena in Belgrade, Serbia, was packed, more than 16,000 people and it was simply magnificent! Regarded as some of the best guitar players in the world, it was great to see them go back and forth as the duo, it looked like the greatest duel of guitarists and it was more than magical! This unplugged version of "Layla" to me is even more filled with emotion than the original version! Eric Clapton is one of the greatest musicians in the world!

EC♥️ I've seen him live several times, and one was acoustic & very mellow.... he blew it open at the end. Lol You kinda want to rock out at a show, but that mellow performance was EVERYTHING, I sat hypnotised entire show! He is amazing, as are you guys!😃

Guys you should react to "I'd Have You Anytime" from George Harrison. It's the opening song of the All Things Must Pass album and it's so beatiful. It is one the best songs of the album with My Sweet Lord and What Is Life. Would appreciate your reaction👍

Great reaction!!! Clapton is very versatile, from hard rock to soft rock and the blues. You should check out his song "The Core" I would really love to see you react to some Molly Hatchet. Songs like Dreams I'll never see, Fall of the Peacemakers, Flirting with disaster, Bounty Hunter, Gator Country and many more. The greatest southern rock band next to Lynyrd Skynrd. Growling vocals,three guitarists that can play lead backed up with great bass & drums. Please try to squeeze in some Molly Hatchet, I promise that you’ll glad you did!! Thanks!!!

Love JJ Cale, got a few tracks downloaded such as Any Way the Wind Blows, Waymore's Blues and No Time. Was watching a video on KZfaq where Eric Clapton and JJ Cale played together at the Crossroads Guitar Festival 2004, the songs were After Midnight and They Call Me the Breeze - fabulous. I think they've played together at other concerts as well.

The acoustic version is great and all but you need to react to the original electric version. There’s a TON of history behind this song. For starters, it was written for George Harrison’s wife as was Wonderful Tonight and Something (George Harrison). It is said that she is the Muse of the 20th Century those songs written about and for her. Also, Eric had been struggling with the song which sounded much different until Duane Allman walked into the studio and ripped the main riff and played the bird sounds prevalent in Freebird (Lynyrd Skynyrd). The original piano part was “borrowed” from a member of Eric’s band who was using the studio to record his own material. Recently, Eric had to stop playing! The Covid vaccine caused neuropathy in both hands!! 😳 🥺 Slowly, he's regaining function now...🙏
