Eric may be one of the most selfless, caring and kindhearted people I've ever seen: All he wants is to make everyone happy and help everyone, and the fact that he can't help one person REALLY bothers him.

in this entire show, the only character which stayed consistently good, despite his tendency to be a little selfish (but who isn't) is Eric Matthews. He is dubbed as the idiot but has gained more out of life than Cory, Topanga and multiple other characters. He is for me in my top 3 TV characters of all time and that will never change whether its the "Fe-He-heeennaayyyyy" moments or the saddest moment in BMW in which Eric is stood outside of Tommy's room after giving him up for a better family. knowing it would break Tommy's heart and his own but he knows Tommy would be better off. Eric Matthews is a saint and the best thing about BMW by far.

Christmas can be the greatest and worst time for me it feels like every couple years something worse happens and it's a burden that I wanted to run away from my family because of hospital trips finding out my cousin almost killed someone to me almost dieing after a fight with my sister every year I have to deal with memory's of everything and It's made me think about suicide my cousins still in jail he's like a brother to me his parents kicked him out when he was 13 this past year we just got my sister out of a abusive relationship me and her ex would get into fights wouldn't talk for days he twisted it around on me so much I judged everything I did for a year I've tried talking to people the list went on and on since the last time I did it didn't help the first time

In a way it was part of the deal. He was responsible for Tommy’s happiness. He was in a way tested to see if he was willing to give up his happiness for Tommy’s. Was he really doing it for Tommy’s happiness or because it made him feel good.....

no matter how much attention it get, this is one of the most underrated things i have ever seen. eric gives him up so he can be happy. because he knows he wont be able to handle it right if he adopted him. i cried.

OMG I'm crying😓😢 I don't know why, i have parents, we are not very close tho, i don't really know why. They work hard to provide for our family, and i really appreciate that, but sometimes i just feel so lonely... So staff like this often makes me cry😓❤

GMW may not have gone as far as BMW but it had some good lessons to teach. Girl Meets Plays WIth Squirrels is one such episode, as is Girl Meets Commonism.

Why did God send Tommy? I like to think God heard Eric say he’d be responsible for all children’s happiness, and Tommy was his way of saying ‘It’s not so easy, is it?’ But I don’t think God did it out of spite. Like with Feeney, His reality check came with a lesson that helped Eric become a better person❤️
