No one sings this song by Sondheim as well as Bernadette. You have to feel it, act and sing and she does that better than anyone. She also has analyzed each note and meaning for nuance. It simply does't get any better.

I was lucky enough to be the cellist playing this with her tonight in Symphony Hall in Boston (sigh!!) She is so utterly fantastic. If anything, she sounded even better than on the older videos posted here. I completely adore her, always have. :)

There are few vocalists left that I would wish to hear live. Ms Peters is one of them. I was at this performance.

Met her last night in Edinburgh, Scotland after her show. She was the sweetest thing ever, and has the voice of an angel, got her autograph as well! Love her dearly

Why is it that every song Bernadette performs makes me weep? She is beyond words.

Stunning...came to appreciating Bernadette a bit late in the game. Really, really late. I had never even seen "Into the Woods" until the film was made. And I am old. Very old. Anyhow watching this performance melts me everytime. I have since heard many of Bernadette's performances and shame on me for waiting so long. She is one of the true greats.

Stephen Sondheim left us on Friday, November 26th. What a songwriter he was. Thank you so much for the songs and the plays.

Ms Peters is the preeminent performer, and she is stunningly beautiful and talented! And that dress is gorgeous! What an experience to watch and hear her interpret the music and lyrics of such touching and poignant songs.

I have been such a big fan, since i was about 3 or 4 years old when I first saw her on the Muppet Show. She still looks as beautiful as ever. I felt really bad for her when I heard that her husband had been killed. I'm so glad she's managed to just keep going and doing all the wonderful things she does.

I remember when I first saw Into the Woods...this song made me cry because it is so relatable and true...this whole play was so amazing. About growing up and life... *whew* I think of my mum when she will finally leave me and I am all alone without her guidance...Such a tear jerker lol.

Wow, I already loved this song so much. This is astounding. Easily the best version I've heard of it. Her voice is almost bell like in it's quality in this song. I don't think I'll ever forget this performance.

ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS! Bernadette has the gifts and voice of an angel.

What is so remarkable is that Bernadette was put on the stage by her parents over 55 yrs ago....and she still after all these yrs still brings it...straight from the heart to you.....

I've always been fascinated by Bernadette - my first wife looked like her, so clearly, I have a type, but what most amazes me about Bernadette is how her speaking voice, with the "little girl" squeak, and the slight lisp, somehow turns into that marvelous singing instrument. Perfect phrasing, impeccable timing, intonation and vibrato spot on, and above all, the way she connects on an emotional level, giving the lyrics meaning and content. Bernadette Peters is amazing - and while things ended poorly with my first wife, I still carry a torch for Bernadette.

Such beauty and class, and caresses a note and word like no other. Bernadette could sing anything and make it sound angelic and real. God given talent for sure.

This is a truly exquisite performance of this enchanting song. Bernadette Peters is so able to express a depth of feeling in the song that so few can. There is such a feeling of endless space and at the same time responsibility and sadness and everything else. I loved watching her perform this and cant believe it has had so few views!

Bernadette opened with "No One Is Alone" in Nashville a couple years ago. Talk about playing your big cards first. The mark of a true artist: she delivers the song as though she's thinking of the words in the moment, as though it's organic. Like teaching a lesson.

This is the other song that makes me cry like a baby. I cannot get through the scene without tearing up (watching the DVD). This and 'Children Will Listen' are two of the greatest songs Sondhiem has written. Esp. the dialogue between the Baker and Jack. I'm glad the libretto beat Phantom's. It's so much stronger and appliable to any scenerio in real life. (Without the fairytale characters, obviously.)

She is truly an astonishing woman. Talent, charisma, a really charming and strong presence, and she is so strikingly beautiful.

Ms. Peters just gave me a master class in how to interpret and perform a song. What a wonderful pairing: Peters and Sondheim. I remain in awe of them both. If this country had more class they would both be named National Treasures.

Into the Woods dvd is an amazing production, start to finish. The two duets by the princes are both great and hilarious; of course, BP is magnificent.

Into the woods… My first professional gig. If I’m remembering Correctly, was a trio originally (1988 I think im getting old) but to have the privlege to stop and listen to it a la Bernadette peters Made my heart zing.
