In this brief lesson we will discuss the Canaanite component amongst the Israelites in Yorubaland and the Edomite populations of Nigeria. We will show through the Bible/history how it is perfectly natural to find Canaanites living near and amongst Israelites as well as Edomites. As we covered in many previous lessons the majority of Canaanites migrated in Africa while a smaller subset specifically the Sinites and Hittites migrated into Asia. In Nigeria we find the Jebusites living amongst the Yoruba who are primarily Israelites. The Sultan of Sokoto even recorded this. Also in Nigeria we have Edomites in the Edo, Igala, and Idoma (Idumea). The Edo live near the Yoruba Israelites/Canaanites & the Idoma live near the area where you found Igbo Israelites. The Edomites primarily migrated into the Caucasus mountain areas after the Fall of the Temple and from there into Eastern Europe. Smaller components went into Southern Europe. Prior to the Fall of the Temple in 70 AD small groups of Edomites had migrated in Egypt, Meroe (Kush), and other part of North Africa. From there they migrated into Western Africa intermarrying with Israelites, Canaanites, and other Hamitic groups.

As a learned brother, you should know that 'africans' weren't divided at will, there is a strong element of colonization and effective from around 1890 (after the berlin conference), there would be further dividing of the bantu through the building of borders and basically, the colonizer (at least in the context of south africa) divided people by tribes and set discord amongst us. As for 'western standards', America and the world wouldn't be where they are if it wasn't for their looting (of Africa) in minerals and our people. i urge you to be a little sensitive brother. knowledge is power.

I am sensitive to the plight of Africa. Watch more of our history lessons I am extremely pro-Africa. It is just a lot Edo refuse to acknowledge there role in things. No group is perfect including my own ancestry. But a lot of Edo refuse to acknowledge their role in things.

Agreed. So now how can I tightrope this delicately. I already knew what you said about the prime minister and I tell my wife that all the time. But because different types of panda's watch the internet I will say no more on that. Remember you have my email if you ever want to go deeper. The Arabs in Yemen and the Sahel still kind of look like the originals. Genetic imprints are always left by the conquering nation when invading. Not to mention if they decide to settle other peoples from other nation there. Most of the middle east has seen this process repeated many times through history. Assyria, Canaanites, Hebrews, Chaldeans, medes, persians, greeks, romans, persians, Byzantine, arabs, Israelites (zanj revolt), Christian Europe/Islamic federation, mongols, turkic ottoman etc... left imprints on the people.

Very accurate, the Oba of (Edo Benin)were capturing and sacrificing the children of “igodomigodo” - Esan, Owan, Etsako, kukurukus etc who initially ran away from Benin because of the barbaric practices brought to the land by the Oba’s of Ile-ife. The ogiso dynasty of igodomigodo was attacked and changed to Oba of Ile-ibinu -> ubinu -> Benin -> Edo. Some of The descendants of Uchi and Adaobi (two princes who fled from Benin) were later captured, enslaved by the Nupe. It’s just too much information to share but watching this video just make so much sense.

The Ijebu are a Canaanite clan living amongst the Yoruba in Yorubaland. There are different clans or sub-sets of Yoruba. This one in particular is Canaanite. Others are Israelites. Remember the Canaanites and Israelites were always intermingling. Prime example is the matriarch of the tribe of Judah was Tamar a Canaanite according to the Bible. We cover the son of Eber thing in the Yoruba Israelites lesson. That legend comes from the Book of Jubilees and the Sultan of Sokoto Caliphate back in the day. This is the synopsis of that lesson: In this lesson we will reconcile the two dominant origin stories for the Yoruba. It will be shown that the Yoruba are a branch of Israelites who migrated out of Southern Arabia during the latter era of the Himyarite Kingdom circa 550 AD. They were driven out by either Yusuf Asar when he began a genocide campaign on all Christians and Idolaters or Abraha who did the same againt non-christians. The Yoruba under the leadership of Oduduwa fled to Aksum first along with other Christian refugees. From there they went to the area between Ethiopia and Egypt near the Red Sea. This area at the time was the staging ground for a lot of the Israelite migrations into Sub-Saharan Africa. Including the Akan & Igbo. (refer to lessons I’ve done covering this) This area would later develop into the Kingdom of Semien. From here Oduduwa and the Yoruba migrated to West Africa along with other Israelites. Hausa is not closely related to Igbo or Yoruba it is remotely related to Hebrew. Igbo and Igbo are closer to each other but not enough to be mutually intelligible. What you are saying is like saying English, Dutch,Danish , German should all be one nation because those are related languages. Nigeria was created by colonialism in first place. The Yoruba had the Oyo empire. The Hausa had their states. With Igbo it is a bit more complicated. Some had kingdoms but most just ruled by council similar to the judges in the Bible. North Nigeria was always more unified than the South because of a share religion of Islam.

Efik I did a video on them a while back. Efik/Ibibio/Ananng they are all Canaanite or Phoenician and related. The Ijaw traded Igbo slaves with the Portuguese and others.
