Escaping 120°F living in my camper van cooking a lobster & crab seafood boil - RV Life. Living in our camper van during a record breaking heat wave can be a real struggle. RV life is not fun when you are sweating inside your camper van in extreme heat, so we escaped the record breaking 120° heat and headed 8,500 feet up in the mountains, where we cooked an incredible lobster and snow crab seafood boil over an open fire.

I grew up in New Orleans ,we use the Cajun seasoning as an all around seasoning instead of salt and pepper,for boiling your seafood and potatoes and corn we use Zatarains liquid crab boil . Another trick is to use a capful of the Zatarains and a stick of butter in a med sauce pan ,statue shrimp med sized shrimp, then add an alfredo sauce to the pan and a 14 cup of cream and serve over pasta.We call that Shrimp Creole Fettucine !

Water, beer,onion,corn,garlic butter sauce, garlic,butter, 3 Tbspcreole seasoning,onions, 1 Tbsp old bay,lemon,15 min boil,sausage,potatoes and add seafood. Sauce butter, garlic, 1 Tbsp old bay, smoke paprika,1 tsp creole seasoning,and lemon. Add lobster tail, shrimp,crawfish,snow crab legs,corn. Boil.

I give you guys a lot of credit for at least giving an idea of how you handle living in a camper van with hot temperatures. I just do weekend trips and very few van lifers were giving advice I could follow when traveling. Glad that you and Dave are back to good health!! Cheers!!

I just visited Great Basin NP in Northern Nevada and had to take a massive detour on US 6 to avoid the Vegas heat. 120 degrees stuck in traffic would be death.
