I bought one Blue Willow plate from Goodwill for my kitchen decor. I think it was around $3. I think $10 per plate is expensive, but a good price if it was for the whole stack. I loved that buffet with the silver tea service on top. Enjoyed the video!

I love estate sales and I wish they held more in our area and you have inspired me to hunt some down this Spring. I love that white pitcher and I always pick those up at thrift stores too. I am sorry you did not get to get that black hutch it was beautiful. Julie your home is so cozy and welcoming looking and I wish I could put together vignettes like you do, I buy things and get them home and can never decide how to make them into great vignettes. I loved that huge basket and it was priced right. Also, there was a picture with an angel helping children crossing a broken bridge. My grandmother had that same print hanging in her hallway for my entire life. I would love to find one for my house.

Greenery in the white pitcher really draws in the basket. Those colors of the leaves drew my eye to the basket, same tones...at least on camera it looked that way!

Agree that there is a sadness that comes on me when I see the collections at thrifts. Estate sales are more challenging. Yes, carrying that person's particular tastes can be rewarding. To know that you are becoming the owner and providing a new "home" makes the sadness lessen.

A really great estate sale. It always makes me wonder whoever passed away if they were A ( Antique Dealer ) or a collector ? The blue willow plates that were Churchill were really high in price. You can get a complete set that’s new for a roundabout $150. I often see you pass by pieces in the thrift stores. There are so many different styles from so many different eras . I’ve been collecting the stuff for over 30 years. The oldest pieces that I have are from about 1776 or older. They used to use the dinnerware as a Ballast in ships ( so these items were placed at the bottom of the ship ) . They also put some out in the 1930s and if they’re Marked Japan on the bottom there from the 50s of the 60s. Your best bet would probably be to look for the pattern in your thrift store . Also I would’ve loved to have that linen press. Not a bad price for something that old. Overall it was a very interesting sale . Thanks for letting us come along with you !

The white plastic part of the lamp - represents A CANDLE...AND THEN A FLAME BULB (smaller than the one that came with it though..)

LOVE the little blue plate! I have several small candle/lamps for soft light at night. I keep lights on all night because I never know where the dog will be & I've tripped over him too many times! I put flags in my little bottles too. Sorry you didn't get the black hutch...it was really sweet.

I love finding old recipe boxes with handwritten recipes on the cards. Some od those old recipe cards are so whimsical.

Loved your haul & styling. You have an eye for things & you know where they all will go. I think that light bulb was to high wattage for that small lamp. Those stickers usually say how high the wattage should be limited to. Keep thrifting so I can shop through you.

Oh my goodness Julie!!! I love Blue Willow!!! I slowly collected all my Blue Willow dishes from antique shops, thrift stores and marketplace. I use them as my family's everyday dinnerware.

Julie, it's very cold here today with an additional 3 inches of snow. It warms my heart to thrift with you. I loved the Blue Willowcould not really see the prices on it, but here it's very short supply and very costly. I fell in love with the black cabinet. Oh I was in hog heaven with all the China cabinets. Really loved the one for $125.00 . The white pitcher was the icing on the cake. Absolutely beautiful. Love to all and God bless.

Here's an idea for your little wooden box. I got this idea from my sister. Jeanie: She purchased a couple little wooden alphabet letter sets ( about the size of Scrabble pieces or smaller) that she keeps in a wooden box in their guest bedroom. Before their guests arrive, she spells out "Welcome (+ their guest's name)! on the dresser top. I've seen her guests spell back to her "Thank You!" or "Love you!" when they get ready to leave. If I remember right, the sets she has also has a few pieces with flowers on them. Blessings, Janell

My favorite is the little lite that was a great find. I personally would never spent money on chipped, cracked, and broken glue items no matter how old or antique the item is!!!

When I was growing up my mom loved Blue Willow dishes. My dad loved to go to auctions and would bring her a whole set of them. Unfortunately my parents house burned down and they lost everything. What an estate sale ! Some things were a little high, but love the pitcher. With greenery and the little box. The cracked plate was beautiful. The hutches were nice too. Take care.

I would gotten the apple cookie jar. I never see them very often. I would grabbed that $1 candlestick that you got too. I love old books as well. I grew up with barrister bookshelves with old books in them. You have great shops and sales near you. The recipe box you bought is like one I bought one for my mom years ago. I took one of her recipe books and handwrote out some our favorite recipes on them. That white pitcher would come home with me as well and use it to put flowers in. I like old bottles as well. Sometimes I feel I was born in the wrong time frame. I love antiques and older items.

Love antique vanities. Make it pretty and use if for yourself. Pretty perfume bottles etc. I have been trying to find one for many years. The owner shoulda given you the plate and bottle for free. Your a beautiful lady. Very sweet.

Nice sale! Some of the prices were a little high but not crazy high. When you clean wood, you can also use Magic Eraser sheets as they are not very wet and it removes “handling” grime very well. For dirty bottles hot tap water and a Polident tablet works nicely. I enjoyed this video so much. So relaxing. 😌 I know what you mean by old well-loved dishes with crazing. I just imagine the meals, people and memories they have.

Great Estate Sale ! My mouth went to the floor with the 1st Table and 6 chairs for $300 ……I WANT THAT !!! I am so excited you got that Blue Transferware platter…I LOVE THAT … the colors are perfectly aged ! Then that white Pitcher ! There were some gorgeous items and furniture there ! Oh my !!!!! I need to move to Texas ! I have no idea what people in New York State do with their stuff ?? Maybe I should go to landfills and LOOK ! ☹️ I had to watch this twice to see all the beauties ! Hi, Julie-great finds! I collect blue willow, and-if it was per stack- the prices looked fair to me. I put a wood drying rack on a corner of the patio- had to buy another!- for towels. Worked fine, then folded up for storage.Painted them turquoise and hot pink for fun! Fun vid- thanks!

Put the bottle in a window, I did and mine turned purple. Sometimes they have an additive in them that will turn purple in the sun. I was hoping you would get the recipe box. Keep thrifting!

I got a couple of those bottles. I was told they were medicine bottles. I can just see my little Granny sitting at the kitchen table rumaging through her recipe box. Also, you never go wrong picking up a white pitcher. Love your channels and love your hauls. Your family is so so much like mine. ❤

Maybe get crafty with pvc pipe to make a towel rack. You could use "Y's" at different heights or maybe make a couple. If you have or run across some round weights, like for bench lifting, make those the bases. And some spray paint in a good color. 🤷 Just a thought. Take care 💜 thx for sharing 🙂

first day for estate sales are usually pricey, second day, better, less choices but better prices, and some have 3rd day sales. here in AZ, there are many "snow birds" and the kids don't want to deal with the household several states away when a parent passes or moves to assisted living or home with the kids. estate sales are BIG here
