Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner review onboard ET507 from São Paulo Guarulhos International Aiport (GRU) to Lomé Gnassingbé Eyadéma International Airport (LFW).
This red-eye flight is a scheduled service from São Paulo to Addis Ababa, with a transit stop in Lomé. Ethiopian Airlines has 5th freedom rights between São Paulo and Lomé, thus this flight provides a crucial link between South America and both West Africa and East Africa.
Passenger load in Economy Class is light on this particular day, and the journey is very comfortable. Meals served are excellent in taste. It is lovely that two hot meals are served on this sector of just over 7 hours flight time.

Thank you, your video (well, more than one on Ethiopian) has helped me a lot! I'm going to do this very flight, all the way from EZE (Buenos Aires) To ADD, and then the ET 672 to NRT Japan! And let me tell you, i have never ever got the chance to get on a plane before so wish me luck! And thanks for the insight! As you made this flight last june, you could not use the new Terminal 3 at Guarulhos. It has improved a lot! Safe travels in 2015, Gavin!

Great video man , i use to fly mostly middle eastern carrier in business class from Sao Paulo or Turkish airlines , but now i fly Ethiopian in economy as they always have a really low load factor on this route and i pay for economy and then sleep lying down as i have a whole row to myself 100% of the time and plus the flight not that bad too, i was speaking to one of the crew and the only reason the keep the route operational is just to have international presence in the south american continent and SAA is their only competition .....

I love Guarulhos airport, just a little ennoy that the new Terminal 3 does not have an observation point like in Terminals 1 & 2.... Good to see Lomé's airport, been there in 1988... It used to be called Lomé-Tokoin International airport until 2005 when it was renamed after late president General Gnassingbé Eyadéma following his death (he had ruled the country from 1967 until 2005)

Hey Gavin, Have you questionned the crew about the usual load on that flight? Empty flights happen from time to time... This summer, I did a Sao Paulo-Washington with UNITED that was empty with only 2 passengers in First, 6 in Business (I was one of them) and 60 in economy on a 777-200... Two years ago I did an Abu Dhabi-Melbourne with Etihad in an A340-600 with a similar load...

Currently there are so few flights connecting South America and Africa. Probably only Ethiopian's ADD-GRU-EZE, TAAGs' LAD-GRU and SAA and LATAM's GRU-JNB.

Edilson Quirino you will stay on board in LFW (now the flight is nonstop because it continues to EZE) and transit, clear security in ADD. I believe the HKG flight may stop in Bangkok as well, you don’t need to get off in Bangkok.

***** Just to inform you, in recent times the economic ties between Africa and Brazil in particular has increased (e.g. PetroBras does business in several African countries). South African Airways also connects the African continent with Brazil.

actually this part of flight is just a layover(refueling) and pick up other passengers en route to other destination ... the destination is Addis abeba(ET HUB) ,where passengers will change planes for their final destination (middle east. asia.europe)

this seems to be a very exotic route; very good report; You 1st time on the 787? I wonder how Ethopian plans to make money on this route, I would doubt that it often runs with high occupancy and high yields; someone, who wants to go from Sao Paulo to Hong Kong -> does such a passenger wants to flly via Lome, Addis Ababa and Bangkok? Would you need a visa to transfer through Togo?

doc7austin Due to increased economic activity between Africa and Brazil in particular, most pple will want to fly from Brazil to Africa and vise versa, and not from Brazil to Hong Kong!

HAHAHA, actually its just a stop to change the crew, fuel and get on board more passengers to go to ADD and this one is not the final destination of most passengers. They usually go to Asia and Europe.
