Etihad Airways Expands Route Network With 8 New Destinations

Etihad Airways added eight destinations to its route network in June, delivering on its promise to increase connectivity. As one of three major airlines in the Middle East, competing with Qatar Airways and Emirates, the carrier is finding ways to remain competitive against its rivals.
The carrier has over 90 aircraft in its fleet and serves more than 70 destinations. Additionally, By decade's end, Etihad hopes to add 40 destinations and reach a fleet of over 150 planes.

Expanding from 90 to 150 planes won't happen anytime soon with increased FAA oversight over Boeing. Nor with Airbus backlog.

Etihad is dreaming of getting new Boeing aircraft soon. They need to go back to reality that Boeing can't deliver the planes that fast.

If the 787-10 can fly up to 14 hours I think they should send those to bali instead of the 787-9 which flies longer

Surabaya and Lombok are not served by Middle East carriers and why must compete with Emirates, Qatar, and Turkish to Bali? They can use codeshare partner with Garuda Indonesia if want to fly to Bali.

Pity is that the Mykonos flights apparently do not stop at Santorini and the Santorini flights do not stop at Mykonos. Currently there is no flight between these two Greek islands and the aforementioned hypothetical stop overs could have conveniently plugged this gap.

These are mostly seasonal, catering to local Emiratis leisure routes + a few destinations to add competition to Wizz Aby Dhabi and Air Arabia Abu Dhabi.
