EUROPEAN RAILWAYS of the 1990s
Lorentzweiler (Gare de Lorentzweiler) (Luxembourg CFL) on 14th May 1996
Later in the day on the 14th May 1996 I visited Lorentzweiler, situated a few miles to the North of Luxembourg on the Luxembourg to Liege corridor. A pretty little town with a very good service to the city of Luxembourg and to the North at Troisvierges. At this time the line to Liege was not fully electrified. SNCB Class 55 appeared on the through trains to Liege while CFL Class 2000 EMU's and the occasional Class 3600 worked between Luxembourg and Troisvierges. A CFL Class 1800 did make an appearance and both freight and passenger services were seen here.
