When Vingo attacked, Poggi did not even bother getting out of the saddle to easily go with him. That is how large the difference currently is between the two. This is not ‘22 where Jumbo had 2 legit GC contenders in Roglic and Vingo, who who each took turns attacking Poggi and this is not ‘23 where Poggi was recovering from injuries he’d suffered in the lead up to the Tour, Pogo is going to take the Giro and Tour double in dominant fashion. Monster!

The main difference is (apart from the obvious things) Pogacar is two years older and better. And maybe a touch smarter as well.

@jooohan-i9o I think Pogo has definitely learned from some of his “youthful exuberance” mistakes of the past. He also has a solid team and has definitely improved his time trialing. Guy is an absolute beast. Attacks to take intermediate time points, attacks on a gravel stage with no help or lead out, and attacks on the climbs. Guy can pretty much do it all and his time trialing will likely just get better. The most exciting and well rounded rider in the peleton by far.

A question for those who say that Tadej is doping: 🤔Jonas Vinenggard is second in the Tour despite coming from a serious injury and with more than three months without racing rhythm. He is second best of all the other riders and is more than 4 minutes ahead of the third place rider. 🤨So should Jonas also be doped 💉 or is he an excellent clean and undoped athlete? 🫣🤭

@@marlonbest5754 Cuz the injury that pogacar had was not that as big as vingegaard. Pogacar had fractured wrist while vingegaard had Fractured collarbone,Fractured rib(s),Pneumothorax. So there is a difference and second of all, 2021 you can see vingegaard and pogacar was world of their own in compare to other riders.

@kiranjshedge He recovered so quickly because the crash was bad, but not nearly as bad as Jumbo and his fangirls want to pretend it was. He was literally back on a bike within 2 weeks of his crash and doing altitude training with Jumbo. Not like Egan Bernal’s crash where he was literally in a hospital bed for 5+ months and did not even get on a bike for 7+ months after his accident. That’s how. 😀

Was it inevitable? Because the overall tone up until yesterday was that Jonas will somehow ride himself into form while Pogacar will start to fade (and/or have one of his “usual” bad days).

@@jooohan-i9o I felt it was. His training block was too short to find his peak form while Pogi has avoided the crashes and just been building to peak. And so it has turned out…Riding into form on a Tour this hard that started in the mountains that quickly is not an idea I brought into. Jonas has been going to the well with each mountain stage to hang on and lacks that deep level conditioning Pogi has this year and it’s no surprise. Not sure what tone up you are referring to that suggested the reverse. Sounds like people assuming what happened in previous editions would come to pass again? I don’t see that. Pogi has dictated the pace as only the strongest in the race can. He can now manage this.

Wow. Just wow. I was honestly hoping for a closer race. Not necessarily with Jonas... with his recent injuries he was always a "maybe" in this Tour--and has done impressively well all things considered--including his lack of team support (on the level that he had the past 2 Tours). But I was hoping SOMEONE would rise to the challenge and give Tadej a run for his money. The guy obviously LOVES to compete... he's even competing with himself now... since he has no other real competition in the race. Look how hard he was pushing at the top of the final climb--riding right at the limit--even with a huge overall and stage time advantage over his nearest rivals. He literally did not let up one bit until AFTER he crossed the finish line. Few if any other riders would have done that with that much distance between him and 2nd place. I'm already thinking about next year's Tour. Jonas is an amazing rider and loves to win as well. I can see him pushing himself harder during the next off season to elevate his game to Tadej's new level. And I think he can do it.

@chriscarol4965 ??? They do not manufacture "wider pedals" with longer axles, that I know of; a "bike fitting" has little to do with someone's narrow pelvis. So I'm missing your point. That other reply (not yours) is garbage.

@@ZENmud there are several pedals with longer axis on the market. I am using them being 6“4 with a wide pelvis on road and Mountainbikes. A bike fitting can dial in your pelvis width to your saddle width to your pedal width to your cleats position to your foot position and angle and give you that straight line. Along with muscle training to counterbalance any imbalances.
