Patricia Kaas is quite beloved in Russia. Probably the most famous French singers out there (Lara Fabian is famous as well, bit she is Canadian-Begian). So, for the audience it wasn't just another unknown contestant singing, but a chance to see an international star on the big stage. No suprise that Russia gave France the highest score of all the countries that year. Such a great song, indeed.

This performance is so artstic and alluring. It reflects the French culture and with that performance France retrieved its old prestige in Eurovision. This is not dated or obsolete. Otherwuse it is so french, genuine with such quality. Commendable effort for France

One of my favourite Eurovision entries of all time - it’s so authentically French, timeless but evocative. I’d loved her to win or place higher. So pleased France sent a not dissimilar entry this year and that it almost won.

French entries are usually no for me, but I do keep coming back to this. It did well compared to what France did in earlier years and is very, very, very underrated song. She's always been wonderful, doing her french thing. It just wasn't time when this song was on. France almost did it with Voila.

She feels that he's slowly leaving the relation between them. It's not clear: no proof, no real piece of evidence. It's subtle, only implicit. She only feels it. His eyes are telling the truth she has guessed. Thus she poetically explains that if she had the power she could do amazing awsome things & be much more committed in their bond only to make him stay with her and still love her. Her only goal is to make this love last much longer. This song is a very deep poetical declaration of love with all the beauty of a honest feeling. Actually, what she sings can be summed up this way: "I feel something... but I will do my best to let U know how much I love U & will stay determined to make this feeling between us stay true." The main idea of this song is implicit. This si why, I think, lyrics are so beautiful: the meaning of words has to be grasped intuitively and guessed. I'm French. This song is really good: music and lyrics that convey so much deep emotion. Moreover, the fact that Patricia Kaas performed it on stage made the whole thing be iconic. The end of the performance when she's dancing and salutes the audience gracefully is just... perfect. Pure elegance.
