@@Glyn-Leine nope, the public votes put Israel on place 2 with 323P and croatia got 337 Albania gave switzerland 3 and croatia 12 and the jury gave croatia 3 and switzerland 12. it was in many cases oblivious, that the jury was bias in their judgements, while only 3-4 nations judged similar to their jury, like france, israel, moldova and germany etc.

It's a quirky, catchy and unpretentious take on a serious topic very relevant for Croatia, but relatable to many people. Baby Lasagna's story is also amazing - "this was a reserve song that was not supposed to compete, he got on stage by accident because another contestant dropped out so he had only 1 month to shoot a music video and prepare for his act. This was the first time he actually performed on stage in front of a camera (he was a guitar player and wrote music for other artists) and he admitted that he was extremely anxious about it. He had 50 spotify listens before Eurovision hype, and was not assigned by any music company. He wrote lyrics and music, produced and made this song all by himself in his bedroom and then went on to win Croatian competition by a landslide, he got 53% of total public votes." His girlfriend directed his music video (which is amazing!), and his brother and friends were on stage with him. He's also really down-to-earth, humble and kind. His close friend suggested him to submit the song to Croatia's competition for Eurovision and all this is happening now!

Still not over the fact that he didn’t win. His story is already so good and with the win it would be just perfect, in Eurovision terms. I doubt that Croatia will have any time soon anyone like him to represent it on Eurovision stage. Still, the star was born and I’m sure his overall story will be a great one.

I just want to reach out and say that myself and my almost 90yo grandmother from here in Wales voted for this 20 times each in the UK and I am so sorry this didn't win! My Uncle (sadly now passed) was a HUGE Eurovision fan and since he passed a couple of years ago my Gran and I are watching on his behalf and she absolutely fell in LOVE with this song! She actually got up out of her chair and was dancing and it was so sweet for me to witness so thank you Baby Lasagne AND Croatia! ❤❤❤Marko (Baby Lasagna) was totally anonymous, he created, wrote and composed the song himself in his bedroom on his computer. The song was inspired by the departure of his friends from his small town to big cities. The song wasn't even written for Dora (national competition), his friend persuaded him to send it to competition after hearing it. And then, he was backup (reserve) song and he only entered contest after other artist dropped and had only 1 month for preparation. He even made a music video in that short time. 😊 Marko had never ever performed as a vocalist before this competition. Also, he is wild, loud and very outgoing on stage, but off the stage he is actually introvert, kind, shy and very humble person. That's why he has such big support from many of us. ☺️

He didn't compose anything. The rhythm is copied from a track called "Espectro" and the hookline is stolen from "Party in My Head" by Pain. The only thing that's original is that he managed to make it worse. I can make you a track like this in five minutes.
