Official HD music video for “Everybody’s Fool,” taken from the band’s multi-platinum debut Fallen.
Evanescence are celebrating the 20th anniversary of Fallen with a series of special reissues via Craft Recordings.
Details/order: found.ee/fallen20
Available on Deluxe 2-LP, 2-CD, and Digital - as well as a Super Deluxe Edition collector’s box set - Fallen (20th Anniversary Edition) offers newly remastered audio, including the album’s singles “My Immortal,” “Going Under,” “Everybody’s Fool,” and “Bring Me To Life.” The expanded set also includes a trove of bonus material - ten tracks in all - comprising previously-unreleased demos and live recordings plus a selection of rare B-sides. Alongside reimagined artwork, all physical formats will include previously-unseen photos from the era, plus a handwritten foreword by Amy Lee, who oversaw all aspects of the reissue. The Deluxe vinyl, CD and digital configurations are out now.
Available exclusively at Evanescence.com is the Super Deluxe Box Set, arriving February, 2024. Housed in a collectible shadow box-style package (inspired by Amy’s songwriting journal cover art), this limited edition includes all of the above-mentioned music as part of a 2-LP set (featuring a Black & Silver blend vinyl) plus a bonus cassette of previously unreleased demos and voice notes which is exclusive to this box set. Adding additional insight into the album is an expansive book which features new track-by-track notes from Lee, while a zoetropic turntable slipmat, rare photo prints, and enamel pin set round out the collection.

Amy Lee nailed this part in the video. You can actually see the pain and despair that the character is feeling. She is portraying actual depression and complete anguish as she is forced to be someone that she is not. Being everyone's fool would be extremely horrible. Love the song and the video is spot on. Amy Lee should have done some acting on the big screen

Long time fan, and just to blow your mind, I'm a 63 year old man fan. These lyrics stand alone as quality poetry, then you heighten it with the music, then you enhance it with Amy's incredibly expressive singing, and then the very well done video just puts a cherry on it. I can't think of a Evanescence song I don't like, and quite a few I love. If you do it right, angst does not go away with your teens, you do not stop feeling.

Oh how this song is WAY more relevant in 2019 than it was in 2003. That's the kind of thing that happens when artists who keep it real and are true to themselves write truly inspirational music, the value only grows over time. Totally opposite of writing the usual, fake "whatever it most popular now" music that blows up quick and then is forgotten about as fast as it came around. Definitely a great song. A great song for great people, on an album that did a lot for everyone who listened to it.

I don't feel like it's "WAY more relevant". Maybe you just had a different experience in 2003 than some of us. I was a teenage girl then and popstars did our self-esteem no favours. The difference now is there is even more 'reality' entertainment and it's gotten just as fake as showbiz was back then. It's an added layer of betrayal because 'reality' and KZfaq were supposed to be 'real', but fakery was just as rampant back then.

Amy Lee warned us about false advertising, unrealistic beauty standards, the pressures of being a woman in the music industry, the chronic epidemic of loneliness and despair, the struggle of not fitting in, and the dangers of blindly following those in power without questioning their motives, yet shows the power of what we can be when we be ourselves and seek the truth. This video predicted so much of the societal ills we have today in the Instagram, TikTok, and social media generation. Everybody’s Fool was so ahead of its time and we were fools not to listen.

Her music helped me through a lot of difficult times in my life from being bullied and assaulted for being queer, self harm, body image issues, the loneliness & isolation that comes with being different. She truly was ahead of her time and people just chalked it up to gothic/rock girl music when it's so much deeper than that.

I was 16 when I discovered this videoclip. I was depressed, bullied, and suffered from eating disorder. I got chills like crazy when I saw this for the first time, it hit my soul so hard, it appeared exactly in the right place at the right time in my life. And it helped me actually : it was exactly what I needed in terms of music AND videoclip. I intellectualized a lot of things about my internal suffering, about my mental health, my condition, and things about school, environment, society etc, when I watched this. Videoclip and music like this, with a deeper meaning, it is SO important, to stay alive, to keep going, to feel we're not alone. Thanks to Evanescence for this feeling I still have listening and watching this now at 37. We need MORE of those musical/artistic choices now!

I would recommend The Bitter Truth too if you’re still bopping around here. Man, that has some of the best shit she’s put out in years. So much pent up rage and pain released, so much sadness at the loss in the last few years, relative to its release in March 2021. That album with Take Cover came out right when I needed it most to heal and get my rage out from one of the most destructive cruel monsters I knew that carved her claws DEEP before I walked out. So I feel you on this song and I’m here to say I am glad you’re still with us, we need more Ev fans like you❤️.

I was about to say that in the last 5-10 years the music industry has realized that it works better with the consumers if you take performers who actually are authentic at a core and let them do, while wrapping them in a shell of marketing, instead of building them up as a target-demographic-optimized product "fake to the core". ... Except K-Pop. K-Popper are Everybody's fool To The MAX to this very day. ...But then I realized you are right, I am just thinking about depth, not width. Looking at Instagram and in fact most of KZfaq, today you have so much manufactured authenticity *everywhere*, it definitely is more relevant today.

It’s been proven that broad music taste and intelligence is positively correlated. Also yea, how can it not be. Pop music lacks depth cause it’s easy to listen to. Music like this has meaning and truth. And we all know it’s hard for us humans to listen to truths. This is why people who are more open minded, therefore more wise, gravitate towards this.

This song is every celebrity who's over the thrill and rush of first time fame. When the novelty of people screaming at you turns from excitement and feelings of being loved and validated to noise and loud shouts. When the joy of signing your first autograph turns from happiness to being a chore. When the mansion you bought was so amazing and big then becomes your prison cause you can't go to the mall, amusement park, public beach or the park without people mobbing you and paparazzis flashing their cameras at you. When you realize, that you are now wealthy but you can't fully trust anyone anymore, cause all of the people around might just want to be with you because of your money and nothing more. I've been watching Marc Sando's compilation of celebrity interviews. And though the life of a celebrity with all the fame and wealth is still a hundred times better than being a burger frycook who's scared he won't have enough to pay for healthcare and rent. The life of a celebrity isn't all positive and isn't a guaranteed way of making the person "truly" happy.

I feel your pain. At school my friends pour pain all over me. They think I'm perfect but I'm not. A kid once said "not everyone is perfect like you" just because I told someone to try harder. Just use a stress ball or something if you're feeling down or mad. :) you aren't alone.

+Zoie Gal none of mine noticed when i was anorexic. none of them noticed me cutting my legs. none of them noticed my depression. none of them noticed when i tried to kill myself by overdosing on ibuprofen. they just pour their problems on me and expect me to fix them. some people just need to open their eyes to the people around them. they dont notice ME (I found out after that ibuprofen cant kill you)

Maybe its time for you all to move on and leave those dipshits behind. Life is full of people that have suffered emotionally, maybe you will find someone that went through stuff too! I hope you can find peace of mind sooner or later!!! "Carry on my wayward son! There'll be peace when you are done!" Life is all about the journey. I really wish you will find someone worthy to walk the path with you!!!!!!!

@Justin O's Channel Gotta agree. When I was in a dark time of my life, everyone asked why I listened to such depressing music. But it was... I guess like a salve on a wound. It made me feel related to. Less alone. Validated. And now my life is much better, but I still listen to Evanescence because I remember how this music helped me. And it still feels like a lot of her lyrics were pulled straight from inner monologue.

@Justin O's Channel exactly. Amy's lyrics acknowledge pain and then remind you that you can overcome it. Helped me a lot through my teenage years.

When I was an adult, I kept listening to music, so when I was homeless, I stood on top of an old raggedy picnic table. I’m not proud of myself but I was still listening to music.
