I recall hearing Rick Stanley preach in Tampa Florida shortly after his conversion. A fiery evangelist. Many young people responded. He passed in 2019, a real stand up kind of guy.

What was not discussed here is that, shortly before his death, Elvis had decided to completely straighten out his life. His confidant Larry Geller was going to move to Hawaii with Elvis and introduce Elvis to a vegetarian diet; Elvis was going to detox, work out and take at least one full year away from show business. No tours. Nothing. The plan was to do that after the final tour that never was (August '77). Lamar Fike has also confirmed this.

His mother was not divorced before she met vernon. She wanted elvis but settled for vernon.

Based on the research and statements I have heard, Ricky wasn’t even there. According to him and other accounts, he was wasted with a girl in a hotel room and once he found out rushed to Graceland only to bust out of the back door crying and screaming that he killed Elvis. Not saying he did kill Elvis or anything but, this isn’t accurate according to him and everyone else. In my opinion based on the countless books and medical expertise opinions I truly believe Elvis died from the enlarged intestine being blocked for a very long time. When he strained his blood pressure bottomed out and could not climb back up in time or get his heart rate back up and went into cardiac arrest. Just my theory

Sometimes people give so much of themselves to others. And ,lose theirselves. Me,personally,I believe Elvis endured alot more hurt than we'll ever know. I loved Elvis and I really wish he was still around.

It says a lot about Elvis that he was so good to the Stanley boys, because he was very upset that his daddy would get remarried so quickly after his mother's death. As a recovering addict myself (8 years clean this January 15th) An addict can usually always tell themselves this needs to stop, but saying & doing is 2 different things. I think someone like Elvis with all the money and power he had would have a harder time getting clean. See Ricky's access and money stopped so it makes it easier for one to get clean. In my opinion. Nevertheless though I'm and happy he changed his life. I'm happy for anyone who can overcome this difficult disease.

They are right when they say that there are many people who have been addicted to prescription drugs. I grew up in a family where one of my parents was addicted to them, so yeah...what they said is true. And at that time, the person could go to different doctors and get the drugs and one doctor didn't necessarily know that there were other doctors involved. Now things like that seem to be easier to find out than they were back then. Especially if insurance is involved. Everything seems to be online now.

16:22 ... and there's a reason for that. The Stanley family wrote at least one book that took some liberties that made the estate uncomfortable. Not long after, Dee Stanley, the brothers' mom, made some OUTRAGEOUS claims about Elvis and his mom. That's the REAL reason that Rick Stanley et al had no contact with the estate. With that said, the estate wanted to preserve a fantasy depiction of Elvis -- so even those who told the truth, good and bad, became toxic to the estate. Priscilla became quite unpleasant to deal with by this point.
