I was looking before this video: Evapo-Rust is advertised everywhere, but the cost put me off. I 'settled' for DeoxC and it's working great - glad to see this video confirms my findings.

Even in Australia it is not well known but evaporust seems to be known. Thanks for the review. I am planning on using Deox-C in a motorcycle fuel tank.

Good test. Ever since I discovered Bilt Hamber products I've never used anything else. They make some other pretty amazing products as well.

Very useful video as I embark on a rust removal exercise on my project car. Thanks for creating!

These type of products seem to loosen the rust before they fully remove it, so it helps to wire brush the loose stuff off under the tap/fawcett at intervals during the derusting process, it speeds up the overall time to get to the final result and helps the derusting fluid last longer as it stops some of the rust getting into the solution - since they contain chelating chemicals that can only grab a certain amount of iron weight for weight of the active ingredient.

Bilt Hamber products are amazing but even here in the UK they don't seem to be distributed a whole lot. I've always ended up buying directly from them.

Bilt Hamber products are fantastic. I've been using their Surfex HD water based degraser (even diluted 1:100 is still very effective for cleaning), Korrosol fallout remover and Autowheels wheel cleaner and fallout remover in one. I've messaged BH a few times about products in the U.S. and the hard part is them getting a distributor. So many Americans want to buy American or buy what they know and the market is already quite full over there that few want to sell BH. Which is a shame as Bilt Hamber do a product called Atom Mac, which is a- "Atom-Mac is a migratory and contact corrosion inhibitor that is diluted in water before use. It provides protection against corrosion in both open spaces and hollow voids. The powerful migratory phase corrosion inhibitors are liberated from the product and are carried in vapour phase to form an invisible atomic shield against corrosion of ferrous metal."

All the Bilt Hamber stuff is superb, great product, swear by them.

I've used Deox C a lot, it's good, great for nuts and bolts, it will take zinc plating off so fasteners will need re plating. I've also used the gel form but found it's not quite as good, I'm not sure that the Deox C isn't just citric acid crystals though, may be worth looking into.

Bilt Hamber products are brilliant. In fact, my opinion is that BH products and after-sales are just pluperfect.

You want to get it in the USA. It's fantastic stuff. BH car care products are fantastic too.

Because of your video I now use Deox C instead of white vinegar. Evaporust is way too expensive (especially here in the U.K.) so have never tried it - and never will now - thanks 👍

Thanks for the video. From the UK and never heard of this stuff, although they do seem to sell it on Amazon. Wonder how it would compare to Krud Kutter. That stuff is supposed to be awesome.

is deox c good for penetrating? if you've got a seized bolt with a nut on it, is it good enough to dissolve the rust between the nut and bolt?

Ive just spent £35 on 5L of Evaporust and is absolute crap. A total waste of money. For a fraction of the price I think DeoxC is much, much better.
