It’s the humidity haha. The American south isn’t just hot, it’s humid. It’s like walking through water. Even after the sun goes down, it’s just as hot. I grew up in humidity and I still dread it every summer.

Depending on where you are in California. It’s a large state. Middle of California has about the same level of heat as Georgia but without the humidity.

We've been getting a smidge of humidity with our 100-110 degree weather over the last few years and it has been miserable. I remember a few summers ago it was 90 degrees at 2 in the morning. CA summers can be as brutal as anything in the south, all depends on the year.

As a Brazilian, I can't agree enough with Trevor. I live in Central Europe since 31 years and when the hot summer comes knocking down everyone people use to assume that I surely can stand the heat because I'm originally from a tropical country while I'm literally sweating like a water fountain and almost dying. I always have to explain that I have been living in Europe most time of my life and I'm not used to this hot sh*t anymore. I came at a very young age to Europe.

It gets way over 100°F where I live in Canada in the summer. People not in the know falsely believe Canada is always cold. And it is- in the Winter. But in the Summer? You can fry an egg on the sidewalk, most places. The first year my Nigerian friends were in my town they were dying from the heat. In a lot of places in Africa the temps are more moderate year round: "really warm" as opposed to "stupidly hot". They have a friend from Uganda. She said to me, "How do people cope?" 😆

@@bubabarrow4960 Yes. In BC, humidity is relative, but when I lived in Ontario, "humid" meant "bring along at least two changes of clothes on any given day" and the air felt decidedly THICK.😁 I suspect Minneapolis falls into that category. 🇨🇦♥️🇺🇸

I think a lot of people forget about the humidity part of the southern U.S. When you're outside for even 5 minutes, in temps much less than 100°, and still break out into a sweat and could swear that Satan himself just breathed on you, it's not pleasant.

I am from the Kenyan highlands where all year average weather is about 72°F and average temps in July and August is in the low 50's. It was my first time experiencing air-conditioning too

I've spent time in AZ and in GA, I'll take the AZ heat any day. At least you can actually breathe in it. I do not enjoy sitting outside, just sitting...still, and break out into a sweat. No thanks.
