Shit those arena stages got massive and he would be running around like an 10year old after eating the whole candy shop(I suppose that would have been cocaine), it kept him in great shape but when he stopped getting that exercise he blew up pretty bad and the plastic surgery didn't help...sad how things went down hill so much for him. Slash went on to play with a bunch of great bands, I have cought him a few times over the years playing smaller venue shows that are far more personal a laid back.
@GhostDrummer
@GhostDrummer 2 жыл бұрын
@@whispersinthedark88 Exactly! When I was a teen, for a while I couldn’t figure out how those rock stars stayed so toned with abs after watching them consume so much alcohol. Then I realized it had to be the coke and all the crazy stuff they did on stage. That type of cardio will burn off the sugar when the alcohol breaks down. But like you said, once they stopped singing, playing, touring, and lots of drugs…balloon city. Axl is looking a bit better as far as his weight goes. His singing also sounds like he’s done something to it; whether it be lessons or just lots more practice, but he is sounding better. I just wish they would bring Steven back on drums. He played with them a few times since 2016. The current drummer just doesn’t fit now that the band is back playing with the rest of the original guys.

As a teenager from the 70's, I have been to MANY concerts! They were a blast! The double neck guitar is a twelve string and a six string combined. Jimmy Page (of Led Zeppelin) used it all the time, I know, I saw him do it in '77. For me, in the 80's, there were only two bands worth listening to. One was GNR! The other is Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble (check out "Texas Flood" at the El Mocambo). I saw SRV 3X. R.I.P. Stevie. Concerts are a blast!!!

Who ever sent you the request must have wanted you to hear Slashes beauty on the guitar. You don’t get as much in recorded versions. 🙂

Very cool, and good for you dude. Live concerts are the best and I definitely feel compassion for you and the fact that you have yet to have that experience in life of attending a live performance. I am 49 years old and I have been to countless concerts over my lifetime (not nearly as many as I would LIKE, but you know...), the very first was Van Halen's 1980 Invasion tour which was their very first national/arena tour. AMAZING!!! Needless to say (but I'm gonna say it anyway - lol), I was hooked immediately and I have been a huge fan of most, though not ALL, bands and music from the 80s era - some of which you have already reacted to and that's awesome. I haven't seen anything on your Channel yet from Lenny Kravitz who is one of my all-time favorite artists/musicians! Coincidentally, he was prett close friends with Slash who actually co-wrote and performed on a couple tracks, including the lead guitar solos. One song in particular, from his second album called "Mama Said", the title track actually is one of those songs dude. Great stuff, and I especially dig Lenny's breakdown/live versions of certain songs he always plays live...check him out man, if you haven't already. Thanks Jojo! Peace...

This concert is hands down one of the best recorded live shows of all time. This, Metallica in Seattle in 89, Iced Earth - Alive in Athens, Megadeth - Rude Awakening, and Sepultura live in Barcelona in 1991 are my top 5 that I've returned to more times than I can count. Number 6/honorable mention would be X-Japn - The Last Live. But late 80s and 90s live shows will never be reproduced. Just a different time and energy. Thank God it's preserved like this and not lost forever.

It was me. I did not mean to cause any stress or anything. Or irritation. This was my wife's favorite song, favorite band, and favorite version of it. We lost her to cancer Oct 13, 2020. Just wanted to send it up to her. I used her cash app to send the donation. Jojo seemed to love GNR so really wanted it to be him to do it. Sorry Jojo for causing irritation.

@@loraharvey6740 Please, don't think like that. I think it was a beautiful tribute to someone you love❤🌹, & he clearly enjoyed listening to the live version. You have all of my sympathy, empathy, & condolences. I lost my beloved Mother (& the best friend I'll ever have), & listening to the music she loved, that we shared & enjoyed together, just seems to keep her closer to me.
