Such a beautiful voice ... this song means so much to us as a family ...our story is about our mam & dad who met when they were 11 & 12 yrs old & they became childhood sweethearts & later at the young age of just 16 & 17yrs old they got married.... dad always sang Luther's songs to mam ..then in 2002 at just 51 yrs old his lifelong love was diagnosed with a incurable fast growing brain tumour ...he brought her home from hospital to hold her & love her for three more weeks in they're home ...he played Luther to her & held & kissed her until she passed away in his arms ..we were devastated & dad still is .... mams headstone in memory of her is engraved underneath with the words " AGELESS & EVERGREEN" & she'll never grow old & neither will the love they shared .... thank you Luther for your soothing voice during mam & dads last days together .... rip mam "Lal " &" Luther" xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx......

He’s a king and I love his songs so much. They get me emotional most times. He’s truly a legend and a master of R&B. I still listen to his songs till date. There is the presence of GOD with Luther in this performance of Evergreen. Great key change, interlude and ending. Great keyboard work on the ending between the grand piano and Rhodes.

He was always in a different class to any other singer .... His musicality texture breath control and range still watching this takes my breath away ...... Incredibly strong in support and in the use of his technique but his delivery was so uniquely sensitive to experience..... ❤️

He was so respectful of his career. Always wore a jacket of sorts even when he was too warm! What a successful man came to earth, did what he had to do no scandals of sorts, and bowed out still at about his peak. Gone....

Burt Bacharach, the composer of Anyone Who Have A Heart, once said that Luther was one of the greatest singer of all time! Luther has a very special voice that touches your heart. I ask myself this question...was Luther The Best love songs singer of our times? We had Peabo Bryson, Lionel Richie, George Benson, Gerald Alston, Smokie Robinson, James Ingram (my man) down to James J.T Taylor, Brian McKnight & Kenny Lattimore to name a few. But here with Luther, mnh mnh mnh, so much grace in his voice. God had truly blessed him immensely.

He was already struggling to belt out the high notes at this concert. One could see that he was breathing heavily and sweating profusely...all the signs of the advance state of his diabetis. The disease had taken a tool on his health and he was way above obesity. His liver, kidney, lungs and eventually his heart succumbed to the dreaded disease in a couple of years time after this concert. We lost a truly legendary singer. There will never be another Luther Vandross...his heavenly voice will never be replaced. RIP.
